Q: What do you mean neighbors, friends, enemies?
A: What I mean is Woodbury is under siege.
1. It is being divided by many different groups of people from different backgrounds, different religions, different political parties and by normal everyday intelligent people that lack common sense.
2. Some fear our neighbors to Woodbury's Western boundary, that caused zoning changes and then we disregard our neighbors to the North and that causes friction.
3. Our residents have been belittled, insulted, ridiculed, slandered, and lied to behind a veil of anonymity.
4. Words have been twisted around, taken out of context distorted and regurgitated into sentences and statements by writers without names that aim to divide our community instead of unify it.
5. You don't need a PHD to know that a Village divided is weaker and easier to control than one that is whole and in unison.
6. We have our friends, let's hope we can trust them. We have our neighbors, strong fences make good neighbors, and our enemies. Enemies could be anyone. They can smile at you and say good morning and then talk bad about you to every person they see. That's the thing about your enemies, you really don't know who they are until they show their hand. So learn to ask questions for your self and don't always take another persons opinion of one of your community members. Make up your mind for yourself.

Yes they really wrote it- check out the FAQ on their website. Sounds like a cross between Nazism and McCarthyism, and you're right- they are sick!
The posting of the article from the Cornwall Local (previous post on this site) is very disturbing on numerous levels---inaccuracy and one sided reporting. Clearly the writer is biased.
But most importantly, it falls basic journalism---it is an opinion piece with the reporter injecting her own opinion and interpretation into the article. It is not a reporting of the events from a neutral position.
Then you have the Preservation web site which very much has an agenda.
People need to realize the behind the scenes maneuvering by Caruso and crew--both in Woodbury and in Cornwall. Remember, how closely Caruso and former supervisor Randazzo worked together with Randazzo even contributing to a lawsuit against Woodbury. Political, yes. Randazzo was running against Nancy Calhoun, no favorite of Caruso or his boss Senator Larkin. Randazzo would have liked votes in Woodbury which is part of Calhoun's district. See a pattern here?
Woodbury Village elections are less than a year away so the Caruso machine via its Preservation Party web site is cranking up early with misinformation and scare tactics.
Only hope people wake up and smell the stink of all of this.
To top it off, I heard Randazzo made an appearance recently in front of the Woodbury Democratic committee asking for them to back him in another run against Nancy! That bunch are as thick as thieves!

You hit the nail on the head when you referred to Caruso as State Senator Bill Larkin's aide. Larkin uses our tax dollars to pay this guy's salary so that he can stir up law suits against Woodbury, lie to us and turn us against each other. If that bothers you then you should let Larkin know. We can't stop Caruso from being a jerk, but we can sure as hell object to paying for it.

Lordy, Lordy, where to begin?
Yes, lots of folks have agendas. That's fine. It's the ones like the good people of the Preversion Party who claim that they don't have one who are liars.
In the Uncle's case, Ralph has turned me against a number of people: Ralph and his donkeys.
As to "get over it," isn't that what Burke and his pals keep saying about their crooked election. Why do folks who get caught always say "get over it?" Actually, we all know why, the real question is why do they think we'll fall for it?
And as to those constructive things that you're doing, mind sharing with us what they are?
I sent these questions to the Citizens for the Preservation of Woodbury. I'd be interested in hearing their answers.

I know that Ralph Caruso was one of the founders of the "Citizens for the Preservation of Woodbury," but I don't see his name anywhere here. There are some people in this town/village that just don't get basic concepts nor do they wish to exercise their brains to do so. They trade in cliches, truisms and outright falsehoods to bolster their opinions and agenda and they truly believe that they are right because they have convinced themselves that they are. These people are more dangerous than someone who attacks you outright and are the Woodbury equivalent of the Salem witch trials and the McCarthy hearings.
If you want to see them in action, then just read the preservation (yee gads!) website and remember that if YOU don't exercise YOUR brain when you read it, then YOU are just as bad!!!
"They" weren't kidding when they said that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
The whole thing in a nutshell is that these people (preservationists) want us to close our borders to future new comers. We should have refused to let them build their homes!
Not only is this a blog that makes no pretense of doing anything but presenting Uncle Betty's opinions, but the Uncle is willing to have any other opinions posted too, including many that attack Uncle Betty.
The Preservation Party people claim that they are for openness and facts, but days ago I sent them some questions (see above) which they have yet to answer (they haven't even posted the questions).

Here we go again, taking the focus away from the overall general concept and getting bogged down in the minutiae. The overall concept this time being what's best for Woodbury, not the personal interests of a small group. We find, by their behavior, that the members of the Preservation Party have a personal agenda (yes, agenda, and here it is a bad word because it is not in the best interests of Woodbury, is that simple enough for you preservation /perversion people?) that serves no one but the interests and needs of the Ralph and his Ralphlings.
They are simply are no good and need to go.
By the way, when is Ralph going to retire to that place in the State of Florida called "The Villages"?

Some of us post our names. But your right, this isn't a political party. But the flyers put our by our side ARE signed, and we take responsibility for them and the facts the represent.
Its amazing how the site really seems a manifesto for their own tactics. It reminds me of Bo's pre-election "down with enemies of democracy!" letter, wouldn't be surprised if he wrote it.

When have the Community Party, or named posters on this site done anything of the sort? Feel free to back your own claims up with "evidence."

Disregarding our neighbors to the North? We are in the same school district. Everything they've done for the past decade has affected us too. Why should we be held to higher scrutiny? The whole assumption DOES, frankly stink of elitism. What makes Woodbury's tax-paying Cornwall School members uniquely accountable to the demands of those who live in Cornwall? What right does the School Board have to sue its own bosses (ie- those who vote, and paid for them).
All this fear blogs are doing is creating monsters that cost us taxpayers money $$$ hard earned $$$ I.e. This monster non-sense Village of Woodbury, WHO THE HELL NEEDED IT??? More wasted tax $$$ to the dumps!!!! All because of these fear hate blogs!!! Stop the crap!!! Abolish this Village!!! Before its too late!!!
How will handing Woodbury's leadership back into the hands of the people who recklessly/dishonsetly pushed for that village in the first place make things any better?

2 clarifications- while I share the opinion that policies singling out Woodbury's growth are very unfair, we shouldn't let this slide into an "our people vs theirs" or widespread accusation of elitism. I have respect for the people of Cornwall, many of whom I grew up with. I would respectfully ask those with an open mind to learn more about what the projects actually entail before judging them. My criticism is limited to certain individuals' claims which I do feel do treat Woodbury unfairly.
I also can't support picking on Mary Ferraro's house/etc. I disagree with her on this stuff, but respect the work she's done for the environment. We're all producing waste, doesn't mean we can't speak up to limit damage from future waste. Whatever happens, I hope she continues to stand up for the stream. I aim to, and we should all hold the village to the strictest testing and enforcement during any building that occurs.
The point about Mary is that while she "sticks up for the stream", she is actually polluting it! I wonder what the building inspector would find leaking into the stream right next to her village of hovels?
The point about about Mary is that she is a hypocrite!!!! It's OK for her and her family to leak stuff into the stream, but heaven forbid! if someone wants to build and NOT leak in to the stream but have potential to leak into the stream.
We do not feel sorry for her at all.
