Election Connection

There's chat going on further down the blog on the upcoming elections so I thought I'd supply a little conversation nook up here so everyone can follow along.

Is it too early to begin speculating what Ralph's biennial October smear-surprise is going to be?

Anonymous said...

That's soooooo old school...look to the new elected officials to know where it's really at!

Anonymous said...

Assuming Ralph didn't have a hand in the flyer from two years ago (a big assumption), are we just supposed to magically forget the dirty, sleazeball tactics he has used in EVERY other election?

As much as there's no lost love between he and Frank, I bet he goes after Skoufis - I hear the last Republican Committee meeting was a James-bashing bonanza.

We have to be vigilant.

Anonymous said...

Swiller was at Skoufis' fund raiser. That's reason enough not to trust him!!

Anonymous said...

Ralph is going to go after James and that is all the more reason for us to support him.

We MUST NOT let Ralph in.
We all know why at this point.

We MUST NOT let Palerma in.
He is not for the people but just for himself and if you read letters he has written, you will realize that(Like his support for the "men in the black hats"). He will sell Woodbury down the tubes if the price is right.

So vote for James and George Peterson and before anyone gives the argument that George is just Ralph's boy, look at how George has been since Ralph is no longer on the ZBA. George may be his pal but he is not his puppet!!!

Anonymous said...

Agreed - I definitely plan on pulling the lever for James, though I haven't decided what to do with my second vote yet.

Anonymous said...

James shows up on a palm card side by side with Palermo, while John conveniently is placed alone. Why did the Dems EVER endorse Palermo? James may have to go down with that sinking ship -guilt by association. Seems like a smart enough young man, I'm sure he could have done it on his own.

I may just consider voting for Ralph in light of the whole Palermo thing.

Anonymous said...

James has shown pretty well, to me at least, that he's an independent thinker...regardless of who he takes pictures with.

Guilt by association in general is usually ridiculous, particularly in this instance.

Anonymous said...

I guess I'm new here...what "whole Palermo thing"??

Anonymous said...

With regard to the next thread-dear Uncle-aren't you being a little silly to say the least in asking for "real names" when you in fact hide behind your very own moniker? Lets see-YOU reveal yourself (like it will be a big surprise) and then maybe others will too. Until them, anonymous seems just fine, thank you!

Anonymous said...

Also with regard to the above thread, are there any other Woodbury primaries beside Randazzo v. Fromaget?

Anonymous said...

Guilt by association is not ridiculous, you are known by the company you keep.

If you hang with thieves, more than likely you are a theif

Anonymous said...

Do you really want me to begin naming all the "thieves" that Ralph hangs around?

Anonymous said...

Please do......

Anonymous said...

Have you seen the Skoufis/Palermo signs cropping up. I'm all for saving money, but I hope James isn't hurt by being "joined" with Palermo. I will be voting for James, but most definitely NOT Palermo. He did enough damage when he was on the Town Board before.
With all the conflicts of interest, and questionable actions of the boards lately, Ralph and/or
George don't seem too much worse!

Anonymous said...

Can someone please tell us neebies what the hell you are talking about with Frank Palermo, other then the fact that he looks like Uncle Fester, what's wrong with the guy????

Anonymous said...

Palermo was a horror the last time around on the board, and he's got an agenda when it comes to another municipality...do the research for yourself. Look into his "writings" to the newspaper, and the company that HE keeps. He certainly doesn't have Woodbury's best interests at heart, rather another municipality's...

Anonymous said...

still waiting for the names of ralph's thieves.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone really still read the crap on this shitty site!

Anonymous said...

Apparently you do!

Anonymous said...

Apparently you suck moosecock!

Anonymous said...

Ohh so sorry for the bad language! I should have said Moosemember!

Anonymous said...

The last poster-ignorance at its best!

Anonymous said...

What's this I'm hearing about James organizing to extend the special needs camp that was up at the rez this summer?

Anonymous said...

dunno. That was grant money. Extend it how?

This wasn't a terrible post, it just didn't belong in the Signed thread:

I have a question- If Palermo, Caruso & Pedersen are so interested in becoming Town Board members, why aren't they attending meetings...of any kind? Do they think they are all shoe-ins and don't have to participate? What arrogance drives these men? None of them deserve our vote, NONE! If they can't even get to a meeting , not even once a month, what kind of job will they do if elected. It's a bunch of BS. We all work too damn hard to be shelling out tax dollars to these guys who pretend they care. Voters at large should be creative, come up with a valid write-in and show these self-serving, tired excuses for candidates that Woodbury deserves better than the same old hacks. I bet the cameraman knows more about what's going on than these self-proclaimed "candidates"!

Anonymous said...

You come up with someone who is willing to do it and I will write it in

Zig and Zag say:

Zig: I was at the Town Board meeting last night
Zag: How was it?
Zig: Interesting
Zag: Were any candidates for town board there?
Zig: George Peterson and Frank Palermo
Zag: Frank Palermo was there?
Zig: Yes, he was so interested in what was going on, he sat in the back of the room reading a book.
Zag: Reading a book!?
Zig: Yes, reading a book, even during the part where the Highway Super announced that he is going to Afghanistan to serve our country.
Zag: Wow, what a guy! What about George?
Zig: Oh, he was paying attention so don't vote for him, vote for the guy who was bored by the whole thing.
Zag: I feel sorry for Woodbury.

Anonymous said...

I think that this zig zag person is making this up. No one is so stupid and uncaring to run for town board and then sit there and read a book. Can anyone verify this?

Anonymous said...

the fact zig/zag said they were at the meeting brings it down to about four people...Hunter, Smith, Krause, or Capriglione. Would you believe any of them??

Anonymous said...

Ignorance, once again at it's best..Smith and Crouse weren't even there, and your use of the word "about" is all too telling...for all anyone knows, zig/zag could very well be one of the "illustrious" Town Board members, or the Mayor or the Town Clerk or the Highway Supt, etc? They were all there too. Once again, you are just trying to sling mud. If you're going to sling it, may as well include all who were there as your percentages for hitting the correct target may get a little better!!

Anonymous said...

If Palermo sat behind Capriglione and Hunter then that leaves a board member, town clerk, town attorney, police chief or highway superintendent......

sounds like a conspiracy to me

Anonymous said...

Lorraine was also present. And who's to say someone can't do the unthinkable task of turning around?

Anonymous said...

And Pederson - though I doubt he knows what the Internet even is.

Anonymous said...

I hate to be a cynic but how much will our country pay the highway superintendent? A $$$ 100,000.00 Plus, this town will pay him his full salary. If he is being activated then I take my hat off and salute him!

Anonymous said...

Would you accept 100,000 to risk your life?

Anonymous said...

Oh please, let's not mix politics on our local front with Mr. Stabile's call to duty. He was asked, and he's decided to go. He made his decision, and is fulfilling his obligation. Cut and dry.

What isn't cut and dry is WHY Mr. Burke feels that he once again has to cut Mr. Jones off at the knees. Mr. Burke was instrumental in Mr. Jones NOT being endorsed by the Democratic committee for his run for highway Supt, and now Mr. Burke is going to try to dismiss him as Deputy Highway Supt when Mr. Stabile leaves. What gives? Why is Mr. Burke so vindictive and pompous? Is that the type of petty leadership our Town needs and deserves-HIS way or the highway (no pun intended)! I think it's Mr. Burke who needs to be brought down a few pegs! I thought his title was FULL-TIME Supervisor, so where's he gonna get the time to run the Highway dept as well? Come on people- this one is a no brainer!! Lets get out there and open the board's collective eyes!!! This isn't "Good Government"- it's self-serving bull!@#$ !!!

Anonymous said...

RIGHT ON!!!!!

Anonymous said...

So answer the question. $$$$100,000tax free yes or no. John Jones should get the spot!!

Anonymous said...

John will be the King of the Highway
He'll travel up and down every by-way,
He will rule with a tight fist,
And no pothole will be missed,
John can do what he may.

Anonymous said...

I hope Woodburians wake from their apathetic sleep and attend the next Town Board meeting on 10/1/09 to question what the hell is going on with DICTATOR, oops, I mean Supervisor Mr. Burke and his almighty reign of power!

Anonymous said...

This is a defining issue, far more than just about one or two people and what titles they have. It's about conflict of interest, expansion of powers, and simply doing the right thing.

Any board member that votes the correct way here deserves some major kudos...I just worry none of them will.

Anonymous said...

I think it's a slam dunk for Burke, since you've got his two fellow Democratic committeemen on the board, along with a lame duck and a newbie...but still people should show up and make him answer some direct and disturbing questions, like WHY!!!!

What's YOUR take on this UB??

Anonymous said...

Burke abstained on the two procedural votes at the last meeting to set up the position so he BETTER do the same when considering his own appointment. If that's the case, two votes will be needed to kill the motion.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if he's taking a salary for this? If so, isn't that double-dipping? How can he hold both FULL-TIME positions at the same time??

Anonymous said...

NO HE IS NOT
BEFORE YOU SHOW AT THE NEXT MEETING YOU BETTER KNOW ALL THE FACTS

Anonymous said...

And where exactly do you get those "facts" from ? Isn't that why you have a public hearing? To get answers?? Or are you so "in the know" that perhaps you have crafted this new law- Mr/Ms town board member??

Anonymous said...

Assuming you do not like John B and the rest of the Board you must think that this is a power play well just maybe it may be better for the town going this way but you may not think so that's why you should stay out of gov. and just keep putting things on sites like this one

Anonymous said...

While it is easy to criticize
there have been many many lies
so if someone objects
no need to flex
your muscles as if you were swatting flies!!!

Anonymous said...

God Bless Pete! at least he dosen't have to put up with all the Woodbury bull for the next year!

Anonymous said...

So HOW MUCH IS WONDERFUL PETE GETTING PAID??????? TAXFREE

Anonymous said...

why do you care what he is getting paid jackass?

just hope he stays safe and returns home.

Anonymous said...

pete has over 35yrs in the miltary what have you done?
do not even try to walk in his shoes.

Anonymous said...

Some people are just jerks

Anonymous said...

We wish the best for Pete Stabile,
And our good feelings for him are real,
he will serve the USA,
in the very best way,
And come home when he closes the deal!!!
