Black Ball

OK

Here's our latest experiment.

No doubt it will fail as miserably as all the others.

Who are you against (primarily for Town Board) and - now here's the tricky part - why?

The goal (ha ha ha) is to be specific.

"Because he's a back-stabbing, mother-jumping, horse-stealing son-of-a-bitch" doesn't quite explain the animus.

The goal is to convince others that the candidate that you are denouncing is bad, bad, bad. Simply heaping denunciation upon insult upon invective may not accomplish that goal.

All that being said, we turn from Scylla to Charybdis. Getting specific may invite law-suits.

sooooooooooooooo, stick to what is on the record, or, if you are saying that you are a witness to some bad act, step forward and give your name (like that's gonna happen).

Oh, I already see that this ain't gonna work out.

Well, let's give it a shot and then try something else.

Ralph: I and everyone else is sick and tired of him trying to wrest power for himself. He's in it for all the wrong reasons and is willing to do whatever it takes to take other people down.

All I hear around town is anybody is better than that guy Palermo !! At least Caruso will serve the town and not himself !

On Ralph: Think back to the village formation (how quickly they forget..) and remember the flyer of lies. Remember his behavior at the public meeting (he knows better than any lawyer) Remember the other flyers of lies against various candidates like Sheila.
These are good reasons not to vote for Ralph.

On Frank: Flash back to late 20th century. Look at Frank's record when he was on the town board. Check out his votes. Is he for the people or strictly for the businesses? Does he want to sell out Woodbury? Remember the meetings where he was telling the then-supervisor what to do. Look at his behavior during election campaigns. Read the letters he put in the newspaper. If you find any truth in them then vote for him. Read his letters in the paper and look who he defends. Good reasons not to vote for Frank.

Its all there, you just need to look.

Didn't Ralph and Frank face off back in 2000 in a run for County Legislator?

Here we go again.

On September 23rd 2006, Frank Palermo said:
"Take the recent vote by our 17 biased legislators who voted against a water tower in a county park, denying a sect of people water needed to develop their land A great victory against the men dressed in black. Yet only one month later, they buy the land a few feet away from the proposed location and they will build the two water towers. If anyone really believes that these legislators will prevent the men in black from getting the water line from New York City and if you believe a survival packet sent out by the Citizens for the Preservation of Woodbury is going to stop the men in black from annexing Ace Farms, then I've got a bridge to sell you." -THR

Is this "done-deal" mentality an example of "fighting for Woodbury" that we can expect from Frank?

We need someone who will be willing to go to bat for Woodbury, not stand by and let something illegal happen because he is afraid of "men in black hats".

who are the men dressed in black ??

Anonymous said...

You got to be kidding us aren't. Take a wild guess what "the men in black" means.

Anonymous said...

Abe Lincoln enthusiasts?

Tom Jones

Perhaps a thinly veiled reference to our neighbors in an adjacent village?
Why does he feel the need to be so indirect? Maybe Frank is like Desiree, he says one thing to one side and another thing to the other side....

Anonymous said...

Listen bub, why don't you just stop with the bull and call a spade a spade, they, the men in black are the orthodox jewish folks that live to our west and when it comes to Desiree, she just talks shit about everyone! Please stop the pussyfooting around!

The oddest thing this time around in Woodbury politics is that Burke and the Democratic committee endorsed Palermo, who is NOT a Democrat, and then Ralphie decides to run...not so long ago, the Dems wouldn't back anyone for the position that King Caruso was running for...has there been a falling out?

Anonymous said...

No. This blog has its own agenda. And it's not in Woodburys best interest.

Uncle Betty said...

No doubt the Uncle has his own agenda. I just keep forgetting what it is.

In any case, obviously, the men in black are Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison.

I LOVELOVELOVE Johnny Cash!!!!

When he gets elected will he sing some of his greatest hits?

Sheila C.
Come out of the closet and tell the good people of Woodbury, how Palermo threatened you when you went against one of his builder builder budies..

Anonymous said...

Ok Bub why don't YOU stop messing around and just tell us what Frank did to Sheila, since you are just busting to tell us

On Ralph: Think back to the village formation (how quickly they forget..) and remember the flyer of lies. Remember his behavior at the public meeting (he knows better than any lawyer) Remember the other flyers of lies against various candidates like Sheila.

The town voted overwhelmingly for the village and, tell me again, why is it a bad thing? Please scan and print the "flyers of lies." Until I see proof, I don't believe what I hear. We already know UB is a Ralph basher; so this blog is tainted before it begins. Good think people don't think what they read here is fact. If they do, shame on them!! And how dare you surmise what any candidate is thinking. You have your biased opinion -- but at least base it on fact!

Anonymous said...

Only about TEN (10) people read or write on this blog. So the candidates should just get out and talk to the people. This here is ALL nonsense. THANK GOD

Anonymous said...

You've got at leasat two candidates who think they are above having to speak to the people-Palermo & Caruso, so that ain't happening.

Anonymous said...

Caruso came to my door. Palermo, Pedersen and Skoufis did not.

Anonymous said...

Still over three weeks to go before the election. I know Skoufis and Palermo are walking town (I've separately seen them both) so it's possible they just haven't gotten to your house yet.

KELEMEN
KELEMEN
KELEMEN!!!

Enough said!

Pothead!
Pothead!

Hey, EVERYONE has a past...I'm just thrilled I now have a choice for Supervisor. But, since Big Bad Swiller won't allow Mr. Kelemen to participate in the debate (too afraid he'll show up his new BFF, Mr.Burke) I would like to know from Mr. Kelemen, if you win will it be a full-time position? Will you too illegally double-dip and become Deputy Highway Supt? What is your position with regard to negotiating employee contracts in a timely fashion- I hear this seems to go on forever under Mr. Burke? Perhaps Mr. Kelemen, since Swiller apparently now believes that things must be done exactly by the book, and no longer thinks outside the box, you should host your own MEET JOHN KELEMEN night and don't invite Mr. Burke-that way you can get your message out on the issues, and have your own captive audience.

Anonymous said...

If you were at the meeting,or at least saw on cable, you would know that Burke is NOT double-dipping. He is taking no extra pay for the extra responsibility.

If you want to rant then rant the truth; not BS.

Anonymous said...

The union said what Burke is doing is ILLEGAL...he can't and shouldn't be involved in the highway dept budget process as Deputy Supt & Town Supervisor..."Fox watching the hen house"!!

Anonymous said...

The highway dept's 2010 preliminary budget was put together by Pete before he left.

Anonymous said...

this site is a joke. good thing i get the real scoop from fox news.

Anonymous said...

Fox News? Another Tabloid only its in electronics and not paper.

Anonymous said...

All media is biased. Everything is subjective and there is no fairness in reporting at all.

Anonymous said...

What's the population of Woodbury- in all those thousands of people, the Town Board couldn't have found someone other than Burke to fill in for Stabile?? Please-more convoluted crap from Big John.
