Caruso Made The Last Minute Flyers Run On Time

Whew! Just made it. The last minute flyer from Caruso has shown up.

Interestingly, there are no out-right lies in it.

Instead it merely hints strongly at some back room manipulation and has a somewhat bizarre opinion regarding the KJ Pipeline.

Since it's a bit hard to read we have reproduced the text in the first post on this thread.

The hint of backroom manipulation: The Republicans ran no one against Burke. The Democratic Committee (including Burke) was very muted in its comments about Ralphie. Was this a quid pro quo? We R's won't run anyone against our pal Burke, you D's put up some sacrificial lambs for council seats and Burke and Caruso will sail in on a shared victory?

Just conjecture, but with this cast of characters you never know what deals were struck.

As to that "bizarre opinion." that John, Ralph and George will "rigorously and relentlessly oppose the 13 mile pipeline." I'd certainly love to hear from (my supposed doppleganger) the Pieman on that one. Fighting the Pipeline has long been his balliwick.

The Rump Roast speaks :

WOODBURY'S BEST CHOICE!
John Burke, Woodbury's current town supervisor is seeking reelection. Supervisor Burke has accomplished the impossible during a very challenging economic time. He improved the towns' bond rating and has not increased our taxes. Everyone should know, Supervisor Burke, The Town Board and The Parks Commission have worked relentlessly to repair the Central Valley Pond and bring it up to Orange County Department of Health standards. Expect to be swimming in it this summer.
Local elections should not be about Democrats or Republicans but about fiscal responsibility, experience, and quality of life issues. We need two more council people who will rigorously and relentlessly oppose the 13 mile pipeline as it will negatively impact Woodbury forever. John Burke for Supervisor along with Ralph Caruso and George Pedersen for Councilman have my vote. They are fiscally responsible and are not beholden to any special interest groups. Their experience, good judgment and commitment to quality of life will serve the taxpayers of Woodbury well. Join me and vote bi-partisan, it clearly is our best choice. BURKE, CARUSO, and PEDERSEN on Tues. Nov. 3.

In 2004 SOCA led the successful effort to get the County to sue on the pipeline.

This year Robert Fromaget was point-man, working with OCEAN, ChangeOrange and Sheila Conroy, again successfully, to get the County to take the issue back to court.

At no point did Ralph Caruso or George Pedersen join in the effort.

If they plan to be act "rigorously and relentlessly" in opposing the pipeline, it's a little late to get started.

This just proves what a scumbag Burke is. Guess even his running mates aren't off limits.

Come on idiots, you knew it was coming, an election in woodbury without a bullsh-t flyer from Burke! what would you expect, again thanks for insulting my intelligence, like everyone else in this town I can't remember sh-t!

Anonymous said...

I heard there is another flyer coming out. It won't sooooo pretty!

Anonymous said...

I don't think there was a quid pro quo - Ralph only desperately jumped in when he couldn't find anyone else to run...I doubt anything nefarious was planned like that.

That said, with Kelemen running now, I wouldn't be surprised if Burke OK'd the flyer in order to help him boost his own vote total (at the expense of his running mates').

Ok- so which is the lesser if the two "evils"- Burke or Kelemen? Can't wait to hear you wisdom on this one-especially from The Uncle himself, Mr. Swiller.

This was written by Burke, Carol Mullooly doesn't have any original thoughts

Swiller will keep silent on this one, last time he backed a candidate it didn't work out so well!

Hey Swiller, about your Nov 1 7:17 post:

At a County Legislative meeting earlier this year, Legislator Frank Fornario PUBLICALLY thanked Sheila Conroy AND LORRAINE MCNEIL for their work on the pipeline.

How come you forgot her? Is it because she isn't one of your groupies?

How can we believe anything you say when you pick and choose facts?

What is with Carol? Is she that oblivious?

Burke is bad and John K is just as bad, niether one has a clue about what the job is. It is not about occasionally calling the town hall from your car repair place (JK) and it is not standing up a Brigadoon like a dope waiting for someone to show up (JB)

We have no choice because the good people don't want to put up with crap like last minute flyers.

Lets see, Burke has never owned a business, and therefore clearly shows signs of NOT knowing how to run a business, because afterall, that's basically what being a supervisor is all about. Then, there is Kelemen who has run two successful businesses, one for over 30 years, so that tells me he must know a thing or two about dealing with customers (residents) and spending properly.

Put it this way, I've had all I can stomach with Burke and his selfish decisions, so I do believe it's time for him to step aside and give someone else a chance.

Eeee Gads Batman- could it be...Swiller and Seibold will be joining forces and voting for John Burke???

Sorry about leaving out Lorraine. My mistake.

She was completely on top on the Amended FEIS and spotted that it had been filed before any elected officials were aware of it.

She, Sheila and Bob Fromaget went through the entire thing line by line to find all the deficiencies.

Again, my apologies.

Who are you supporting for supervisor Jonathan?

I've got until tomorrow night. Do I have to make up my mind now?

Vote for Kelman as in K J, remember a vote for him is a vote for KJ!

Write in Swiller for supervisor!

If elected I promise to leave town (how's that for an incentive?).

I thought Carol Mulloolys letter was very insightfull as we all need to work together to make our town/village a great place for our families and take politics out of the mix..............

Backing Ralph to "take politics out of the mix" is like backing your local pusher to take drugs out of the mix.

Ralph will vehemently continue to lie all his life, probably why Larkin kept him around so many years.

Frank may be strong willed as he claims, but he did help those in Highland Lakes Estates with their bankrupt builder and their roads, did negotiate a FAIR contract with our police department without spending many thousands on legal negotiators and never (that I saw) backed down from an issue if it was brought to him no matter what the ramifications.

I think James is a fresh breath of air and George cannot think for himself.

James and Frank have my vote today. And yes, let's get two-faced Burke out of here, I'll be writing in Kelemen.

Well, it is election day and as during the previous election, both parties are controlled behind the scenes by Ralph Caruso and John Burke.

Confirmation of this statement?

Carol Mulolley's letter says it all. It is not about bi-partisan elections. It is about 2 people controlling the 2 committees, making deals behind the scenes that limit the voter's choices--Burke and Caruso.

Why is it that the Republicans have not run a candidate against Burke in the last 2 elections? Why is it that the Republicans, namely their chairman Caruso, did not protest the lying flier in the last election that cost 2 Republican candidates the election (by very close numbers)? Burke pubically took responsibility for the lying Timber Ridge Flier and still no comment from the Republicans and no Republican candidate to run against Burke.

Why were Republican Committee members who had John Burke's signs on their lawns when he did have a Republican Supervisor opponent not reprimanded?

Why do Mulloley and the other "concerend" citizens who used to show up at pre-Burke televised meetings (not untelevised meetings) and criticize every little thing the previous Board tried to do but no longer go to meetings at all?

Can you imagine if Conroy had made the mess out of the Central Valley Pond repairs, spent over $1 million dollars only to have the place closed for the season, what Malloey and her crew would have done at meetings? There would have been calls for an audit, accountability, etc. They would have had the newspapers all over it. But Burke does it---- SILENCE.

Now another #1 1/2 million is needed and again SILENCE. And has anyone asked where the so-called money from developers from park fees is coming from since no one is building and Burke opposes new development. These fees are suppose to pay for the repairs and yet nobody is building homes. Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth at the same time.

It is all about politics and control. Sadly, Caruso and Burke count on people not knowing what is going on. For years Caruso, when out of power, complained about the Democrats and Republicans working together behind the scenes to control elections. How ironic that he no longer complains because he is the one doing it now.

So, if we understand Swillers last post, Lorraine was fighting the Pipeline again, before Burke and the rest even knew they were supposed to fight again. She is not running but the people asleep at the wheel are.
Poor Woodbury.

Anonymous said...

Which way IS she looking anyway?

Yes, Burke and his Board sat on the KJ material because they did not understand what it was or what to do with it.

Lorraine McNeill and S. Conroy had to go to the Village to get a hold of the documents. They, Bob Fromaget and Swiller did the real work, without pay and without standing up at televised Town Board meetings and trying to make themselves look good. They read all of it and did detailed analysis which they presented to the County.

Burke stood up and opposed it but had no facts, no analysis and no details. He is great at saying "I oppose this" but has no clue how to actually present the data and facts. He just does sound bites. Others do all the work.

While the Frank Fanario of the County Legislature publically thanked these people for all their factual work, notice that our own Town of Woodbury officials never even publically acknowledged them--- not on televised meetings or in any reference. Instead Burke, Caruso and Company took credit for other people's hard work in their political mailings.

Thank goodness for people who are willing to do what is good for Woodbury in spite of politics.

Dear 12:07 Poster:

Making fun of someone's physical problems, handicaps or whatever you want to call it is just plain low. You must be a piece of s@#t. and probably jealous that she is way smarter than you will ever be.

Here's to hoping tonight was the final stake in Ralph Caruso's political career.

Something really does have to be done about the Republican Committee, come new year there will be no Republican on the town board, that has to be a first in town history. What is the Republican Club up to?
