That Was So Much Fun, Let's Do It Again!

OK, so the results are in, and the winner is...US! 'Cause we get to do it all over again in November.

Rob won the Republican line 253 to 129 (with 5 write-ins, presumeably for the Uncle). He also won the Ind line (That runs to Coney Island, doesn't it?) 12 to 9. Pete won the Conservative line with 21 (there were 6 write-ins, possibly Rick Parry, with an "A").

So, Pete's and Rob's people get to bash each other for another two months.

Who says there's no fun in the 'burbs?

And pay attention Pieman, you Democrats get to vote this time.

Ashame. Would have liked to have seen a competitive race for Highway Supervisor in November. I haven't seen one of those since I came here.

Looks like Ralph is no longer the powerful guy in the Republican party.

Mike will make a fine replacement for Ralph since there isn't too much difference between them!

Make way for Mike and Maria!!!!!

Well at least maybe the new Highway Supt. Will make us coterminous, not increase Village taxes, and not change zoning. Oh wait, that's the three promises the Village Board made but never fulfilled any of them.

Anonymous said...

You are VERY confused.

A highway super has NOTHING to do with being coterminous or not.

and the Village Board that made all those UNKEPT PROMISES are the very ones that support the new guy.

So why do you think Rob will bring such great changes if elected? In fact, he may go with the village board trend of RAISING TAXES.

Anonymous said...

Aren't you posters jumping the gun...there IS still a race as Pete got the IND line, correct??

Anonymous said...

Rob won Indy line. Pete only has Conservative line.

Anonymous said...

k, so Pete will still be on ballot then.

I thought Mike Aronawitz ran out of town after he flipped his vote to increase density! You know The Junction which was suppose to have 141 homes and now has approval for 481 homes that thank GOD nobody wants!

Anonymous said...

ok there will be competitive race in Nov for highway you only need one line to win so stay around and see what happens

Anonymous said...

Pete is finished. Goodbye! So is Ralph

Anonymous said...

pete got 35% of the republican vote. that's embarrassing.

I have to say that Uncle Betty is comical. For all of the people that thinks Pete Stabile has say in this site are wrong. Come on Uncle Betty you as I know that I would not want my name out there because we know how this town operates. I know how this town likes to retaliate against the outspoken. All i have to say is stay tuned i have allot of information for you out there.

Anonymous said...

Great grammar.....why is it "I" when you don't know about it pete.

Anonymous said...

The person on the donotelect website is hysterical. Don't they realize yet that negative campaigning is only hurting Pete. Weyant at least is taking the high road. Pete needs to realize (and you'd think he would after the beat down in the primary) that the people don't want to hear the negative. Come on Pete wise up and give your self a chance.

I fully agree with the commenter who says: "I would not want my name out there because we know how this town operates".

Ralph has so poisoned politics in Woodbury that anyone running for office becomes the target of hatred and vilification.

Pete being negative??? Rob tried to steal the Conservative line by not mentioning that he had someone other than himself, who just happens to be a Notory, file an Opportunity to Ballot for the Conservative line. Even his palm cards made no mention of a primary for the Conservative line.
Was he planning on having a bunch of his Conservative friends show up to do a write in? Oh wait...he only had 5 write ins.

Anonymous said...

So funny that you are talking about the Conservatives. So cute that that's all that Pete has, so you must defend it. Goodbye Pete. The Gazzette said it right this week, "Weyant wins Highway Superintendent" Bet Pete loved that one.

Anonymous said...

When most candidates run they usually are only on one line, so what makes you think that Pete won't win?

Anonymous said...

What makes me think Pete wont win? The fact he only got 35% of the people in his own party to vote for him. And he wont get Dem votes bc Rob is on that line.

He's finished - start packing your bags for Arkansas, kids!

Yes, make sure you vote for Mr. Maturity, Rob. See what kind of reaction you get when you ask him a question he doesn't like.

We are very concerned that he is still not able to control his temper, which is not good for someone who is supposed to head a department

Anonymous said...

We = Holly and Pete, right?

Anonymous said...

Rob not control his temper? What about Pete who has screamed in plenty of Woodbury citizens' faces. The man who basically has told ppl in town to f-off when they complain. Now-Pete's a man with a good temper? Once again, this "pete-fan" on here is cracking me up.

Anonymous said...

I doubt that is true but even if it is, does he HIT them?

Really? Is this what everyone is going to continue to do, personal attacks? How about trying something new, like talking about who is going to do the best job for the people of Woodbury. You wonder why Woodbury is going down the tubes. Let's try to talk about some positives for a change and maybe we can try to make Woodbury a little better.

Anonymous said...

Woodbury is no different than any other Town/Village at election time. Personal attacks, whether true or contrived go back to the early days, and sadly will never go away. Technology only heightens the use of them. It's fact that Pete has been seen in public drinking too much, so there is truth in that statement-whether or not it rises to needing AA may be someone's opinion.

Anonymous said...

it is very easy to make anonymous accusations. Maybe you keep talking about being drunk because YOU are!!!

And no, other towns are not as bad as Woodbury, thanks for the legacy, Ralph

Anonymous said...

Why Holly keeps getting braught into this. I hope Rob dont get mad and hit somebody.

Obviously you don't read or travel around too much-try going over to Blooming Grove or up to Newburgh and see how nasty their politics are. And as far as the alcohol thing goes, when you watch someone stagger out of a bar after pounding down a few, I would call that FACT!

What the hell?

a previous poster writes:

"...And as far as the alcohol thing goes, when you watch someone stagger out of a bar after pounding down a few, I would call that FACT!"

And just what were YOU doing at the bar, dear poster? volunteering to be the designated driver.

I am just getting so sick of this nonsense. Vote for Peter or vote for Rob because you believe that one will do a good job. For either side to do these horrible personal attacks is just disgusting and yes, even though places like Blooming Grove have their problems, it is just SICK in Woodbury!!!

No wonder the good people don't want to run for office in this town! Who wants to put up with this awfullness.

Anonymous said...

Why don't we change the subject to something more uplifting. There's a fundraiser for the town's hurricane victims on Oct 1.

Anonymous said...

Good idea! there is actually something positive going on in Woodbury thanks to Councilman Skoufis! He is the youngest member of the town board and the most effective!!!!!!

Lets get rid of the two do-nothings, Carlton Levine and Boo Havilland.

Anonymous said...

Levine is worthless.

And agreed, I had my suspicions at first, but Skoufis has been a pleasant surprise - he has done a lot for this town.

Anonymous said...

How come the Republicans did not put up a candidate for supervisor? And does anyone know anything about the two town council candidates running against Levine and Haviland? Are they decent people or just more of the same filth that we have in office now?

Anonymous said...

Why do you think? Because John and Ralph are best buds.

Arone seems like a decent guy though worrisome he's been on the Republican Committee. Prestia seems like she's just running for stuff until she wins one.

Anonymous said...

Will there be any Q&A sessions for the candidates? Do Arone & Prestia ever go to Town Bd meetings or workshops?

Anonymous said...

I have seen them both at Town Board meetings and the workshops.

Anonymous said...

I have worked with Tim in the soccer league and while he was on the PTA board and he is a good guy. I am a Democrat and will be voting for him.

Anonymous said...

A debate would be great but I dont think it will happen

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Carlton knows what an Article 78 is yet.

Anonymous said...

On election day make sure everyone writes in Uncle Betty for supervisor!

Anonymous said...

How was turnout at the fundraiser today?

Anonymous said...

It was a great crowd, even with the poor weather. Job well done by all involved.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone here Pete Stabile on the radio this morning. Good job Pete Was your opponant to nervous to show.

Anonymous said...

His opponent Rob was working at the Highway Department in Woodbury. You know the same place Pete was supposed to be.

Anonymous said...

And...once again...a "Pete" supporter with great grammar/spelling. They write- "opponant"... haha. wonder if it is the same genius who is running the "Do NOT ELECT" website out there..... afterall, they say they have "Allot" (haha) to share with all of us..... comical.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah...and they write "here" Pete on the radio. It's HEAR and also they write "to scared to show" It's "TOO scared to show" hysterical. No doubt that was Pete writing it about himself- since we know how illiterate he is.

Anonymous said...

Are there going to be any debates???

jonathan swiller said...

It looks like we will be able to pull together a debate for the candidates for Town Council at the end of the month.

Once everything is set we'll make an announcement.
