At the risk of...

At the risk of alienating some number of you, the Uncle shall explain his silence. I spend much too much time down in D.C. nowadays, and Woodbury shenanigins pale in comparison. Someone like Caruso who lies with every breath, or like his daddy Larkin, who ignores his constituents in favor of the folks with the bucks are a dime a dozen down here (pretty close to literally).

In the early days of Operation Iraqi Free-for-all, those folks who questioned President Bush's decisions were often told: "We shouldn't question his motives because he knows more than we do."

The latest here involves the 4 mobile chemical labs that were found in the desert. Remember, they were proof that Saddam was working on weapons of mass destruction.

Well, now we find that quite early on the Pentagon sent in weapons experts who inspected the "labs" and reported that they not weapons labs.

Scott McClellan reacted to the story with this: "The lead in The Washington Post left the impression for the reader that the President was saying something he knew at the time not to be true. That is absolutely false and it is irresponsible, and I don't know how The Washington Post can defend something so irresponsible. "

SO, McClellan is saying that despite the fact that the Pentagon issued a high level report proving that there were no mobile weapons labs, it is wrong to say that the president knew about it. In other words, "We shouldn't question his motives because he knows less than we do."

(Ahem) Speaking about Larkin, I have searched far and wide for his date of birth. Does anyone know how old the old geezer is? There has to be a point when the old man retires or something.

He has to be about 80 or a little older. I will tell you, they will take the man out of his office in a casket. Larkin could never live with being an Ex-Senator. He knows people hate him and only kiss his ass becuase of who he is and what he can do for them. If he has nothing to offer people will finally stand up to him and tell him what they really think.

Interesting that you should say that anon 2. There is a rumor that he in fact sleeps everyday in a coffin and only rises when the sun is down.

Frightening that Orange County should have a nasty old man as our Senator. Only those closest to him know just how geriatric and corrupt he really is. When he stops bringing home the bacon to the County he will become a huge target. That's probably why he could never live with being an Ex-Senator.
