It would be nice if a new Republican Club was formed that gets us away from all the partisan garbage. It did not used to be this way in Town, but since the return to power of Caruso and the Burke, Manquel, Bob Donnelly take over of the Democrats with the 2 parties forming the Republicrats, people who simply want what is best for Woodbury.

Proof--look at how Burke and crew used to attack Conroy and the Board. Since Burke took office, when have you seen Hank Sullivan or Carol Mulolley at a meeting? It was all staged for political effects. And now we have the Town Government they wanted.

Hope the new Republican Club exposes this stuff and that we can have decent people running for office again in Woodbury. It is long overdue.

The Uncle has been informed that all are welcome.

Ref -Hank Sullivan at the meeting.

And you don't think what is going on now at the meetings are staged for political effects?? Same effects just different characters...and I do mean characters!

Last poster's interpretation is strange in a number of ways.

The people complaining right now at Town Board meetings have not run for office and do not seem interested in running for office (unlike Burke and company). They are angry because the 2 newly elected councilmen (Haviland and Levine) cheated and got caught doing so, but seem to think it is acceptable. I don't believe any of the people speaking out at meetings now are members of the Democratic or Republican, better known as the Republicrat, Committees.

Burke, Sullivan, Mulloley, Siebold and company all had obvious political motives. All either ran for office, sit on committees to elect people to office and/or actively campaigned for people running for office.

People at recent meetings are asking those who ran on an "open and accountable government" platform to answer the questions of who wrote, approved and distributed the lying yellow flier.

It's not just about politics. It is about cheating and lying. And it about telling the truth after you get caught.

It is not simply about dirty campaigning. It is about outright lies about your opponents, done at the last minute so there was no time for a response, targeted to a certain concentrated section of Woodbury who felt victimized about their assessments and were victimized again by candidates stealing their votes with a lie.

If people are not outraged, then we become accomplices. It doesn't matter what party you are--- lying and cheating to win is wrong. It is happening all around us--from sports to our own local elections.

Bet you would have felt outraged if it was you who ran and were lied about.

The bottom line is that those who did it have not admitted it and can go on to do it again.

It is surprising that you did not notice the connection--the same people who pulled all the political show time with Burke and his supporters in the audience are the same people who lied and cheated in the last election. That is the common thread.

And if it is not exposed, it will continue to happen.

The only way you cannot be outraged by all of this is that you are numbed by the cheating and lying or else you support these people and so excuse their actions.

Silence is acceptance of what they have done and permission to do it again.

Anonymous said...

To last poster: you got it right.
Silence is acceptance. And it will happen again if not exposed.

But you need to go back one more election with another lying flier that benefited Burke when he ran against Conroy. It was unsigned and sent out at the last minute, full of misinformation. It was clearly the work of Burke supporters and likely involved the Republicrats.

Nothing was said or done and lo and behold, the same strategy is used in this past election.

There is a common thread--the same people lie and cheat to win and think they can get away with it because they have twice succeeded in doing it.

And yet, a ghost writer wrote, approved and distributed since no one has accepted responsibility. Burke did say he was responsible and then said he didn't write it, approve it or distribute it. So what was he responsible for? Saying he was responsible just to make it go away?

Well, it should not go away. Whoever did write, print and distribute it should be exposed. If there are no consequences, there is not cost.

And it will happen again, and again, and again.

Is this the type of government we want in Woodbury? Elected officials who must resort to lying and cheating in order to win?

If so, what does that say about us?

So people at meetings, keep speaking out.

I agree with the last poster.
Silence is NOT golden!

I heard that piece of crap Randazzo was at the Democratic Committee meeting the other night pleading his case for the committee's backing to run against Calhoun. What a piece of trash- kisses Ralph's butt in helping to fund a suit AGAINST Woodbury (one that had to be defended with OUR tax dollars), and now he wants Woodbury to endorse him? What a pompous horse's ass. Hey Nancy- how can Woodbury help with your next campaign???

Anonymous said...

Woodbury can help by shutting up, we're already the laughing stock of the county, and lets keep crying over all the injustice in the world, like thats going to help, realize that these people (on both sides) are (special) that's a nice word for thier problem and get the job done, Silence may not be golden, but patience people, this to will pass.

Uncle Betty said...

Who, pray tell, is laughing at what?

Patiently waiting for the bad people to get tired and go away is a remarkably dumb way to make things better.

Anonymous said...

Woodbury didn't pay anything for that Article 78 you're accusing Randazzo of. Get your facts straight. Oh wait. I forgot. You don't have to have facts here. Just ineuendos.

Anonymous said...

I heard the Art 78 was funded thru garage sales held in Cornwall by various accaintences of our infamous Republicrats.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, fast fingers, that should read acquaintances.

"pray tell", that sounds pretty light in the loafers, if you know what I mean, your probably not married! to a woman, that is!

"Woodbury didn't pay anything for that Article 78 you're accusing Randazzo of. Get your facts straight. Oh wait. I forgot. You don't have to have facts here. Just ineuendos."

Enlighten me, please. If an Article 78 is filed against the town...don't they have to defend it? And who pays for that? Duh, isn't it the Town who pays for it? And who funds the Town, but the taxpayers, right?

Uncle Betty said...

The town convinced Brodsky to reimburse the cost of defending against the suit.

Good for the town, but Caruso, Donnelly and Rendazzo didn't know that would happen when they brought the law suit.

Anonymous said...

The town convinced Brodsky to pay!!!!!! all part of the back room deals made in Woodbury with the builders. When was that deal cut. I don't remember the board discussing it at any town meetings!!!

WOODBURY'S PAST IS BURIED IN BACK ROOM DEALS JUST ASK SHELIA

Now the village is doing the same thing.

Anonymous said...

Randazzo is the biggest douche bag on two feet

Anonymous said...

Oh right, Sheila Conroy is full of back room deals and she has the millions of dollars to prove it! That's why she is driving an brand new Chevy Tahoe (Worth about 30K)!!

Oh wait, that isn't Sheila, that's John Burke.

Anonymous said...

Randazzo is cut from the same cloth as Caruso and Larkin. He gives you that half-assed grin and shakes your hand, while his other hand is behind his back firmly grasping the knife.

Anonymous said...

I thought that Ralph was the worlds biggest douchbag!

Anonymous said...

douche bag, sorry !

"light in the loafers" and last weeks' blog, the comment about Walter Brennen (old actor) sounds like you're a movie watcher, do you get all your quotes from movies? What other dumb comments from Good Morining Vietnam do you have!

Anonymous said...

Sheila was always taking questions, usually to citizens confused about laws or reporting developers breaking rules in their backyards. Ask her, or the Village board what you like- if you're actually interested in answers over vague character attacks.

Its funny those who accuse her and others have either been meeting behind closed doors for years (Republican committee) or do enough votes/sneaky flyers off the record to make their public meetings a joke (Democrats).

Might want to check that tree-trunk in your eye, folks. Its impeding your rear-view vision.

Anonymous said...

One of Sheila's biggest attackers, Mr Open Government himself, John Burke has had more closed/executive sessions than the previous 3 supervisors combined!
Hypocrites, all of them: Ralph, John B, Dickie Randazzo, Larkin.
and then there is their group of mindless but vicious toadies and attack dogs, like Bob Donnelly and Don Seibold.
We should run them out of town!!!!

Anonymous said...

Oh! Did I say anything about benefits to Shelia. No I just said Back room deals !!! Who received the benefit I don'nt know. Do you?

Anonymous said...

Oh Bob, you're so very transparent.

Anonymous said...

Lots of things have to be negotiated in private. KJ wouldn't have met about dropping that annexation attempt on tv! I don't see you calling the the town employee/police unions dirty- they negotiate with the town under privacy! Some things HAVE to be done in executive session by law.

Benefits/improvements to the town have been listed left and right from the two developments. Sheila wasn't great at PR, but she and others have been open and consistent about explaining what Woodbury gets from the deal.

If you know of payoffs to ANYONE else, show us something real. Otherwise kindly shut up, its getting old.
