Uncle Billy Lives Large

Lawmakers operating in culture of corruption
One Central New York senator who hasn't faced a serious challenge in more than a decade uses political contributions to pay for a $38,000 luxury car. Hudson Valley Sen. Bill Larkin, R-Cornwall-on-Hudson, recently jetted down to billionaire Donald Trump's opulent seaside Mar-a-Lago mansion to help collect contributions from gambling industry execs.

Is there any question then as to why Ralph Caruso did NOT attend the fact finding meetings with regard to gambling casinos in Sullivan County, and what it would mean to the traffic and air pollution in Woodbury? Obviously, Boss Bill Larkin told him not to! Unfortunately that leaves Ralph back here suing the Town of Woodbury and protecting KJ's right to sprawl!

Anyone catch the Memorial Day Parade? Ralph, gentleman that he is, had his poor wife WALKING in the heat carrying the Republican committee banner, while he, the drone, chauffered Uncle Bill in a Mustang convertible. Go back to the 50's Ralph! In this era, WOMAN do count, and have shown more than once that they can kick your ass!

Last time I checked there were twenty members of the Republican committee, why did most of them not show up?

get your facts straight ... because there were FIVE Woodbury elected officials who also marched in the parade and are also on the Woodbury Republican Committee .

Ralph probably hand-picked those who could and could not march! Afterall, he IS the Grand Pooh Bah!! For the record, I don't think the Democratic committee made a great showing either!

Bill Larkin has never once addressed the issue of traffic impacts that will surely be significant to his districts like Woodbury. Doesn't he care about us?

Ha ha ha ha ha!

No.

To put it another way. Senator Larkin's appproach to most of us (frequently mirrored by his aide, Mr. Caruso) is a blend of a laissez faire detachment and a stern paternalism which can best be summed up by the phrase "Go fuck yourself."

THAT IS EXACTLY AUNTBETTY WHAT YOU SHOULD DO OR UNCLE JOHNATHAN WHOEVER YOU TRY TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE. THE ONLY SURE THING IS YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A PHONY WHO HAS AN AGENDER WHICH IS GOING TO DISTROY WOODBURY, GOOD LUCK YOU ... .... .

The word is AGENDA.

At the Town Bd meeting tonight Boob Donnelly threatened Woodbury with another article 78 law suit. Maybe Dick Randazzo, Caruso, Larkin, Siebold and the others will help pay for this one too.
Who's destroying Woodbury you --- ----?

Regarding the mentions on here about the GOP committee members and the parade.

Several members of the committee are also town elected officials and would have marched separately in those capacities.

Ralph did ask all members of the committee (and yes including yours truly) about whether we all wanted to march in the parade.

I had another pre-scheduled commitment that afternoon and i know a number of the other members had pre-scheduled commitments and some were to be out of town that day.

Ralph, Don, Bob
All that Swiller and his group do is help the Town, like the free workshop on the assessment forms and annexation. All that you three do is hurt the Town, like sue us and bring in rip off lawyers.
Why don't you stop a minute and think about that?

As Chair of the NY Gaming Commission, how much does Uncle Bill Larkin receive? (I'm talking about additional SALARY, not all those perks.) Money speaks louder than anything in this world, so the math is easy...trickle it down to ole Ralphie's pockets, and of course his best interests will be up Bill Larkin's ass, NOT here in the Town of Woodbury!

I must commend Mr. Booth on his blog...fair, honest reporting of the facts. Yes, sprinkled here and there with some opinions, but it is HIS blog, so he is entitled. I hope he continues to update his blog. Thanks Jim!

It would be nice if we could get Democratic Committee’s too. I would love to be a fly on the wall of those meetings!

Hey, the Democratic Committee is up for election this year and petitions start this week...is anyone out there decent going to try and take on Bob Donnelly and his crew on the committee.

I know there are good people on the Republican Committee like the aforementioned Mr. Booth and several others, but are there anyone out there associated with the Dem Committee who are also fighting for change??

To set the record straight, Democratic Committee meetings are open to the public, not that anyone really cares to show up. Secondly, Big Bob Donnelly seems intent on filling the district seats by using the following criteria: a) be a relative of a current committee member, or b)be a friend who has sworn allegiance to his agenda. In years past, you actually had to attend 3 consecutive meetings to even be worthy of a committee seat (guess you had to show you were really interested). Nowadays, you write a letter, and if you meet the aformentioned criteria, you're put on the committee and you don't ever have to show up again...ask Manny about his relatives if you really want to know! Anyone that really cares would never qualify under Big Bob's new rules!

Donnelly does not set the rules...nor does Caruso on the Republican Committee. ANYONE who wants to be a Republican or Democratic Committeeman can be if they are willing to do the work.

Any enrolled Democrat can primary any member of the Democratic Committee this year (Republicans run next year) All you have to do is circulate a petition and get 5 percent of the enrolled Democrats in any particular district in Woodbury you want to run in. There are 10 districts. You dont have to run in the one you live in, but it would be easiest to do so. Just make sure you get the signatures ONLY in that district.

If you do everything properly your name will appear on the Primary Election ballot. The top two vote getters in a district are elected. Of course you will have to campaign to get elected. However, it is very simple. You make up a flyer and walk the district and tell people why you want to be their rep on the committee.

If you are interested you can contact the Board of Elections in Goshen. They can get you a petition and for a small fee a list of the enrolled Democrats in the district you want to run in.

I know there are many good Democrats in this town...dont let Donelly off the hook
