Why no "work session" last night?
Because they knew noone would show up. Just like noone is going to come on thursday. Give it up. We don't care.

Hey unc, I have told recently that there is in fact a way to legally remove the supervisor due to what he has done. Can you tell us if this is true?
In NY State there is such a thing as removal by the court. It is very rarely used and would probably be very hard (maybe impossible) to have done. I expect if used at all it would be forofficial misconduct rather than election misdeeds.
Just a couple of thoughts or more like a questions?
Has anyone noticed that since Caruso has controlled the Republican Committee and Burke's people took over control of the Democratic Committee (around 2002) that the elections in Woodbury have become nastier and more dishonest with each election?
Has anyone noticed that Caruso's and Burke's people started attacking each and every Board member that they disagreed with since meetings became televised? And it is noticeable that they do not usually attend untelevised meetings. Even Burke, who did attend work sessions before getting elected, almost never spoke at work sessions, but saved his prepared and orchestrated speeches for the television.
Anyone who disagrees with their views and only their views is no good, corrupt, dishonet and stupid---so they say. But isn't just the opposite true---they are the ones with these traits. They are so filled with their own self-rightousness that they justify lying and cheating in order to win and have power.
Dirty, gutter politics is what they have brought us to and where we will remain as long as they control both parties and work together behind the scenes.
Oh I think many people have noticed, but the real question is when are those that are on the two committees that AREN'T a part of this happy horse-shit style of politics going to stand up and be counted? They are the ones that need to really let people know what's going on within these derelict little committees, as they have witnessed it. The rest of us can only speculate as to what's really going on, but I have a pretty good idea that we're right on target!
They won't because they either don't care or they are just too afraid to do anything. Maybe they are just cowering, waiting and hoping that it will all go away.......

I am against Burke & Caruso, however unlike them, I don't meet with anyone in secret, I don't set people up, I try my very best not to lie, and moreover I back up what I state with TRUTH & FACTS!!! So your comparison is full of holes.
The people that are willing to stand up against Burke and Caruso are very open about it, and say so in public. They always do their homework, and are will to share their information with anyone who asks.

Poster 1 - There have been endless examples of lies put out by the Ralphlings and the Burke posse. What lies have their opponents promulagated?
Poster 2 - The Uncle generally prefers riding boots, but I do appreciate the attempt at more evocative prose.
I'm sure we'll be getting a thread on this soon but thought I'd share a few choice tidbits from tonight's meeting.
Swiller asked Burke to clarify what exactly he was taking responsibility for. Burke stated that he did not:
Write the flier.
Print the flier.
Distribute the flier.
Apparently these, and any questions were best answered, in town and Democratic Com. meetings with the simple truth that "Burke takes responsibility."
He made it clear this unspecified "responsibility" closed any further discussion of the issue. He repeatedly "had nothing further to say."
Here we see Burke's bold, innovative strategy. In traditional scandals (ie- the FEMA/Katrina mess), the "fall guy(s)" quietly vanish to shift the blame from anyone else. Burke plans to be the fall guy AND lead the town, to "take responsibility," then go on ignoring the elephant in the room.
Maybe Nixon could have stayed on and settled everything by mailing Democrats friendly letters written on the back of the files he stole from them. Bill Clinton could have let interns "manage" his press conferences from under his podium. Honest and open government at its best!
I look forward to seeing how Burke's administration will provide a voice for the community BY STONEWALLING any questions they don't like.
First of all let me clear something up. Burke doesn't have a posse. Everything he says, everything he does is carefully orchestrated by Caruso. Hes not in charge of anything.
Secondly, others on the Rep Committee did try to get Ralph out, but I guess its hard when hes got his wife, Don, those other two new hand picked losers, Hanks wife, and a few other yes men doing what their told, instead of doing whats right for the people in town.
The Democratic Committee also needs an enema to flush out the waste product thats contaminated it.
There are some Board members, Town and Village, and some Committee members, Rep and Dem who feel that the people work for them. when they are there to do what WE THE PEOPLE want. They work for US! Its time to tell them shape up or ship out.
Who the hell is John Burke to say he's not answering any more questions having to do with that flier??? He's said he's responsible for it, so perhaps we all need to remind Mr. Burke that the definition of responsible is "answerable or accountable, as for something within one's power, control, or management."

I don't hate anyone as you say, but holidays or not, I refuse to be lied to by the Supervisor of my Town, NOT get an explanation, and then go along with business as usual. Sounds like you need to just keep your head in the sand!

Am I to understand that at last night's Town Board meeting, Mr. Burke said he was "responsible" for the lying flier, but then said he did not write it, print it or distribute it?
The obvious question: So what is he responsible for?
And who is he responsible to?
His response appears to be another orchestrated strategy for which he is noted: speak but offer no solutions. In this case, speak and hope the whole nasty mess will go away.
Since Burke ran unopposed, perhaps he feels he can take the heat for the dirty campaign tactics and deflect it from his running mates who barely won---likely picked up the extra votes from the infamous lying flier.
Didn't Burke run on an open government pledge? Or is it only open to people who think like him and Caruso?
The bottom line is: who wrote the lying flier, who approved it, who distributed?
Burke: live up to your open government pledge and open up with the information about the flier instead of hiding behind being responsible, but saying you didn't do any of the above.
Come clean. Who did? The Voters have a right to know.
If people are willing to lie to get elected, what are they willing to do to hold onto the power they gained corruptly?

The five board members decide and i for one think it would be a hugh mistake to start replacing full time officers with part time officers. Unfortunitly we have a very busy town/village and we need police coverage. We can't wait around for the state police to answer calls. I think it is Burke pushing for part-time officers. I hope Mike Q, Gerri and the two new board members don't allow themselves to be sold on the idea just to save a few bucks.
Does anyone know how Gerri is doing? How come she gets very ill from what i hear and everyone ignores it? Is it a secret? I have asked a few people and all I get is that she is recovering and looks great! What does that mean?

You've got Manny and Ralph, who have a combined IQ of about 55 for they can't seem to tell the difference between truth or lies. Then you have Burke, who can't seem to understand what "responsibility" means. Then there is Siebold, who truthfully is a dog incarnate, for all he seems to be able to do is play fetch and roll over. You've got the bobble-head twins, Bo & Carlton, who only seem to know how to nod their collective head up and down whenever Manny or Burke speak...I could go on and on, but the point is that the whole lot of them don't have the intelligence to screww in a light bulb, but thanks to Ralph, they are certainly screwing the residents!
