The Bottom Line

It comes down to this:
If you want Caruso to run Woodbury, vote for the Preservation Party.

If you don't want Caruso to run Woodbury, vote for the Community Party or the Common Sense Party.

And if you don't think that Caruso intends to pull the strings if his candidates get elected, wake up.

When Joan Caruso (no relation) was Town Supervisor, Ralph "informed" her that she was to clear all town appointments and hires with him. She ignored him.

When Sheila Conroy was elected Town Supervisor, Ralph told her how she was supposed to vote. She ignored him.

After that Ralph tried to make damned sure that his candidates understood who was boss.

He managed to hold onto Mike Aronowitz for quite a while, but in the end Mike started thinking for himself. Some of you may remember Ralph's public tirade against Mike in Town Hall.

John Burke remains content to let Ralph do his thinking for him.

In this election, Caruso is trying to stay deep in the shadows, but there is no way he would back Meyers, Pederson and Ungerer unless he felt secure that they would carry out his wishes.

If that appeals to you, go for it. If not, stop it. Either way, vote!

Ralph is a total control freak. If you disagree with him you are the ENEMY.
He will attack you, lie about you, try to get you fired, try to get your family fired. Right now hes trying to get Swiller thrown out of his house.
This is what Ralph is like and that is how he would run Woodbury.

Ralph is just not a nice person. He is only concerned with his little sphere of influence and his power base. Kiss his ring and you are ok. If you have a different opinion, you will be on his shit list FOREVER.

Dancing into view without a care
Swishing around touching her hair
Comes the Mayor in all her glory
Nothing about her is ever gory
Nice to your face with a lovely smile
Don’t turn your back, then it is vile
Friendly mayor whither do you go?
“Why, To hang out with the Weider kid-don’t you know“?
The Mayor will look out for us as best she can
But really the leader is Rick the man
When asked a question she does demure
“Excuse me Rick, what’s the cure?”
“Vote for me again and never worry,
That anything will be done in a hurry
In fact “procrastinate” is my middle name
Isn’t that how you play the political game“?
Here she comes with motive in full view
She thinks we don’t see what it is she will do!

You can dislike something Stephanie does or something Mike does, but as long as Ralph is waiting to take over, any attack on the Community Party or the Common Sense Party just helps Ralph.
Stop the infighting and just get out there and vote.

Anonymous said...

I agree.

both the community party and the common sense party need to get along although the community party are the ones slinging the mud and then saying they are only stating fact. if it looks like a piece of shit and smells like a piece of shit than it is a piece of shit!
so stop the mud slinging and move on!

Is the Weider kid the Mayor Weider from kiryus joel?? you've got to be kidding me, Where do you come up with this shit!

Anonymous said...

Here we go, it's time for the big guns. You know, if you people had any real care about the Village/Town, you'd stop the crap. But, you know best, so keep beating people up with your nonsense, innuendo, and the like. In the end, the residents will vote, and whoever wins, wins. That's our Democratic way. Those who truly care will keep trying to do their best, and those who are out for themselves and their particular agendas will fade as quickly as they stepped into the spotlight.

"Ralph is a total control freak. If you disagree with him you are the ENEMY."

Looks like an apt description for you as well. Just because Meyers. Pedersen, and Ungerer does not go along with the community and common sense views does not make them Ralphites. That's like calling the others Brodskyites, etal.

It will be interesting if the Preservation group takes this. Where will Johnny go to show his face. Where will you all go?? What will Unc do? Close this site again? One can only hope for such an outcome.

Who counts the votes? An impartial party I hope.

Anonymous said...

Will someone please explain who the Weider kid is and why it is a concern????

One can only hope that people have not forgotten the last 2 Town elections. They demonstrate so well what Caruso does.

In the 2005 election, Caruso's controlled Republican committee did not nominate a candidate for Supervisor. Conroy went out with supporters and got enough petition signatures to get on the ballot. The Committee did not support her or the rest of the ticket. They wanted John Burke and his team to win. Why? They were easier to control.

Perfect example, after being elected Burke was asked at a town board meeting why he voted against seniors owning their own homes instead of having only rental senior housing in Woodbury. He looked confused. When told that one of the 1 of the 5 laws he opposed regarding the Brodsky project was to allow just that, do you know what he said? I DIDN'T READ THE LAWS. So he just followed Caruso in the little lemming line and opposed what he had not read.

In the 2007 election, Caruso's committee again did not nominate a supervisor candidate and did not support the Republican council seat candidates. Anonowitz had broken free from Caruso's grasp and McNeill newer was in it.

In both those elections, lying last minute flyers arrived on people's doorsteps. In both cases, they benefited Burke and his team and lied about the Republican candidates, not being supported by Caruso's committee. Did Caruso and Committee protest these dirty tricks? Not a peep. Silence.

After the 2007 election, even the newspaper called for Burke and his team to resign and hold a new election because it stunk so much.
Again, not a word from Caruso.

Wake up people. Caruso controls the Republican Committee, the Democratic Committee and the Town Board thru his surrogate John Burke, and the Preservation Party.

He now wants to also control the Village government. Too much power in the hands of a few is very dangerous. Especially the few who lie and use dirty politics to win.

Methinks the Preservation Party protests too much about not misleading people about how creating a village would stop annexation of land out of Woodbury.

Key members of that party absolutely told people that and there are witnesses. You want a name? Don Siebolt for one. The same Don Siebold who wrote a letter endorsing the Preservation candidates.

Either the current candidates do not know what their own party had done or they are as deceptive and play the same word games as Caruso and company.

Last commenter: you are right about playing word games.

One of my all time favorites was from the 2005 election and the last minute flyer against Conroy and team that accused them of calling a hastily called regularly scheduled meeting.

Talk about misleading people. They counted on people only reading the hastily called and overlooking that it was a regularly scheduled meeting.

They also cleverly and deceptively had a small reproduction of a newspaper article which they misrepresented what it actually said. It was so small and hard to read that they counted on people not reading it and only reading their re-interpretation of what it "said".

And then there was the lying flier about Aronwitz and McNeill about assessments to the people of Timber Ridge.

All of these lies benefited Burke and his team. Since Caruso and his party were silent in all of these instances, one can only assume that they wanted Burke and his team to win.

Lies are dangerous. Hope people realize that before they vote tomorrow.

If people will lie to you before they are even elected, imagine what they will do after they are in office. If you reward the liars, you will get a government that lies to you as well.

Just the fact that the Preservation team has no idea of how things actually work is VERY scary. They simply repeat what they have been told, and rely on Ralph, the Times Herald-Record and Photo News as their sole sources of information. They don't seem to bother to look into things. They have NEVER attended the comprehensive plan meetings, so how can they say we need to stick to the Masterplan of '88? Because THAT'S what Ralph has told them to do. The sad part is that all three men seem to be very nice people, and they've been thrown to the wolves by their master.

Aimee Fiztgerald's recent letter of support for the Preseravation Party (not an independent person but one who has supported Burke and Caruso for years), quoted that communities get the government they deserve.

She may be right.

If people vote for the people who have been behind the lies in the last 2 Town elections, they will get liars for their government leaders.

Burke's team created, signed and distributed the lying Timber Ridge fliers from the 2007 elections and we got them for our Town government.

Since the lying fliers from the 2005 election benefited Burke again and Caruso did not object to these lies or the 2007 lies, one can only assume he supported these antics and the candidates they benefited.

Caruso created the Preservation Party and ran on its first slate of candidates along with George Pederson and Burke's daughter. Meyers has also been on the ticket before. And Fred Ungerer has long been associated with them.

Their recent letter in the newspaper denying the Preservation Party got people to sign petitions to create a village to stop annexation is a lie. I know people who were told that.

I sure hope we deserve a better village government than those with a history and trail of lies.

Okay, enough already, so this is what to do, don't vote for the current in power people and don't vote for Ralphs people..the answer is simple....Queenan..it appears, the lessor of three evils!

To the 9:07 poster, listen dummy, Weider is Mayor Abe Weiders son from KJ, and yes sadly he does hang out in Woodbury with our Mayor, mostly on Saturdays after sundown, however his father, although the Mayor of KJ for a long time is really not in control, in fact he probably dosen't know what day it is! anybody with half a brain will tell you the man in charge of KJ is Mr Segedin, have Swiller tell you the rest, he knows who is in charge over there. The Weider kid is an outcast, which explains why he is hanging out in Woodbury (at a bar) to begin with, I think he's hanging out because our Mayor is better looking then more then 97% of the women in KJ, which makes him a good judge of character. Remember you can pick your nose, but you can't pick who you're related to.

Woodbury was misled
The Preservation Party slate, which is running in Woodbury's village election, wrote a "My View" that appeared in the March 11 Record. In that piece they state, "The assumption that our village was formed to prevent annexation by Kiryas Joel is false."

They're right, it is false — having a village has no effect on preventing annexation. But it was members of the Preservation Party themselves who widely spread this false information when they were attempting to frighten Woodbury into voting to form a village.

Hundreds of Woodburians remember being told specifically that forming a village would prevent annexation.

Now members of the Preservation Party are saying "show us where that's written." The point is that they went out of their way to keep it out of print. Their first handout was intentionally vague and misleading on this point.

I believe that it is fair to infer from this that at the very time they were making the claim about annexation they were aware that they were misleading the public and that they went out of their way to avoid leaving a paper trail. What they cannot erase is the memory of the hundreds of people they willingly misled.

Hey Swiller, Very well put, now do us all a favor and honor all those brave souls who have served, are serving, or who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could vote, enough already shut the site down until 1 minute after the election, don't give anyone any more chances to smear any of the candidates or spread lies or mistruths. HONOR the memory of these brave men and women!

Anonymous said...

Swiller talk to the Uncle above the posters request!!!

Anonymous said...

The poster has a point- there have been enough facts/lies/halftruths/character assassinations/ etc to last us all until November. Why not shut down the site until you can post the results, and spare those nine candidates who have been brave enough (or insane enough)to offer to make a difference.

One party referred to it as a "battle", and this site alone has left them all battered sufficiently, don't you think?

Let's see if you truly are the intellect you claim to be.

People show their true colors when under pressure.

Looking at the Preservation (Ralph) party and the Community (Johnny Kelleman) Party, I don't see anything favorable.

I like the Common Sense Party and I found out that Maria H, who was the chairman of the Community Party is now with Common Sense Party, that should tell you something.

And now, the name calling begins because people are not allowed to have their opinions in Woodbury.

Uncle Betty said...

There is no dearth of opinion in Woodbury.

You are right, the fact that Maria H. is with the Common Sense Party should tell you something!

Ralph may be in the preservation party but that doesn't make the whole party stink. None of their candidates are puppets. Stephanie, on the other hand . . . Does the woman have a brain? Can she think for herself? And to the first poster, Ralph will never run Woodbury, no matter who wins.
