Clowning Around

Considering all the depressing negativity being expressed on this blog of late, the Uncle would like to thank Don Siebold for his hilarious letter to the Times Herald Record.

Every once in a while we need a good laugh and there have been few things funnier this week than his reference to the Preservation Team as people "who have no hidden agenda and are not beholden to special interest groups."

Thanks again Don.

Well we know what the hidden agenda is now: get revenge on anyone who dared to go against Ralph

Again, back to Ralph! Give it a rest!

Ralph you fucking coward. You attack everybody and whine like hell when it comes back your way. Just leave!

Wow! what a comment, I've can't remember when I saw the f-word on this blog, good for you and it's so true!!

Hey Uncle, I'm curious? why didn't you remove the 3rd post, I guess it's because if someone has something bad to say about a candidate you support, it gets removed, but if someone makes a nasty comment about Ralph and co. (and I do agree by the by) it remains posted. ???????

My Sweetest Brain-dead Nephew

Are you still unable to find that third grader to explain this to you?

The thread called "A Bizarre Suggestion" has been set aside for making positive statements about the candidates you (or anyone else) support.

Postings there which consist only of negative remarks are being removed. There. On that thread.

The normal, intellectual debate along the lines of "Swiller is a shit head" "Ralph is a dickless wonder" will generally be left in place on all the other threads.

Actionable posts, such as "XYZ is a child molester" will still go bye bye as they are encountered.

This is not a very difficult idea to grasp.

Hey Uncle, rather then write something about "Swiller" why don't you just say "me" since you and Swiller are the same dam person, or do you think that we are all very dumb..

Ok, back to the Village- so with less than one week to go , where will the "last minute flyer" come from? Anyone want to take any guesses?

Ralph will don a cape (pun intended)and , by cover of night, will deposit the dastardly pack of lies in everyones mailbox, faster than Santa can deliver presents on Christmas eve. The pack will talke about the other candidates records, (Stephanie and Mike) leaving out just enough info so as to make it appear really really bad!!!!

I haven't seen any lies on anyone's flyers yet. Let me know when you find one.

The ad of the Common Sense Party!

What's the lie?

Sorry your just jealous.

I thought their ad was interesting at best. Don't know if I will support them(torn between them and the Preservation group), but I like their energy. Both the Preservation and Common Sense Party have clear platforms with a purpose.

Whoever the mastermind is behind the Community Party should be fired. Their ad in friday's paper was pathetic. But whats worse then their sloppy inexperienced political team of masterminds is the constant bashing of the Common Sense Party. They should worry about themselves and focus on what they can do for me Joe taxpayer.
I want them to cut out the nonsense and try to consolidate as much as possible with the town.

The excuse that the state will not allow it is nonsense. The state for years has been encouraging municipalities to consolidate. What the people know is that the village board did very little to try and consolidate because they got their little taste of power and ran with it.

If a new group gets voted in their feet should be held to the fire and once and for all consolodate! Or be voted out!One government(I personally don't care which one) needs to take a back seat and give whole and all control to the other one. Then that one government should manage all daily goings on. They should have drawn up the intermunicipal agreement like that.

Another thing.... I think politicians should stop blaming others for their own failures. How long is the village board(over two years in office) going to blame the town board for everything?

I am no fan of John Burke or that group and hope in the next town election we get a new supervisor, but I have to tell you it almost makes me sick to hear a village board member blame the town.

I voted for Obama but I cringe when he says he inherited the bad economy. Last I knew the Dems have had a majority for at least two years.

People should own up to their failures. I have an alligence to only our flag. I wish their was a shining knight in this race but unfortunity we are stuck with few choices. Not sure yet what I am going to do, but I can't vote for a Mayor with such little knowledge and blames others for her mistakes.

To: "I wish their was a shining knight in this race but unfortunity we are stuck with few choices..." If you're so knowledgeable, why not put your money where your mouth apparently is, and why don't YOU run for office?

BTW, no one on the Community Party ticket "bashed" anyone when they came to my door. They politely, and quite intelligently gave me answers to my questions, which included a detailed explanation of coterminous- which I might add the Common Sense party did not. I asked what, if anything would it cost, and what would happen if the Town Board decided not to go along with it. The Community Party was honest enough to let me know that a cost analysis had NOT been done by any party. They also explained how BOTH the Town and the Village would have to submit home rule requests, and if one board decided not to, then it would have a hard time moving forward, since they would have to act together. They went on to inform me that I should look up Mrs. Calhoun's record of getting special legislation passed, which I did immediately, and it looks like since she is and has been in the minority in the assembly, she hasn't gotten diddly passed. Therefore, it does seem foolish to base your entire platform on an idea that you cannot thoroughly explain, nor do they know the cost impact or true savings, and better yet, they want to base the special legislation on an ineffective assemblywoman. Leaves me wondering if it's all a sham.

I honestly feel that the current government hasn't done anything wrong, and is working without an agenda. I've watched Mr. Queenan on TV say he's against something, and turn around and vote for it. When I found out that he started the petitions for the Village, then went against it, then backed the current Village board, and is now against them, it makes me wonder what his agenda actually is. He talks about duplication, and yet he's gonna collect two salaries for about 8 months if he wins...isn't that a HUGE duplication directly from my pocket?

No, I gotta say, their isn't any bashing going on, just a clear presentation of the facts. I just hope everyone takes the time to investigate what they're being told and what is in print.

Wow, you seem to know an awful lot about Mike Queenan!

When the Common Sense Party came to my door I asked Mike Queenan what he was going to do about collecting two salaries. Had you asked you would have received the same answer I did. He will only collect the mayor salary.

He and the Common Sense party answered every question I put forth and so did the Preservation Party. I liked the fact that the Preservation Party stand by what they say and are a more mature knowledable group. The Community Party hasn't even bothered to come to my door, but I saw enough at the debate.

The Mayor didn't even know simple budget questions. She didn't know that a backhoe purchase for one of their departments was coming from taxpayer money! I belive her answer was oh it's coming from a equipment fund or something to that effect. She kept looking at the moderator and the moderator even said at one point to look at the audience when answering a question because he doesn't even live in the village.

I do not know any of these people personally but a nice man at the debate wrote down this website for me and told me I could voice my opinion if I wanted too, so that's what I am doing.

I guess I can look at things a little more objectivly then most and I still am not sure who to vote for. I am leaning towards the Common sense Party but I might split between the Preservation Team.

We'll see
