Ugly Betty

This blog has gotten uglier than usual (if such a concept can be imagined).

The Uncle is not guiltless, nor does he have any desire to be so. But at least he has attempted to be stylishly offensive.

On Wednesday we vote for mayor and two trustees. Nine walk in, three survive.

Thursday will thus be recriminations day.

Do attempt to bear in mind that you all have to live here - at least until the real estate market stabilizes.

Since you seem so pessimistic, why don't you pack up and leave now? Saves us the trouble of dealing with your whining later on.

If you read the Photo News, you probably saw what I consider an astonishing endorsement of Aimee Fitzferald supporting Meyers and company. She is definitely not a Ralph supporter... nor a John one for that matter. As an independent voice, hers comes through even louder on which way this community should go.

Now that's a laugher! Better do your homework better Don, or Carol, or Ralph...

Campaign 2005

Burke for Woodbury

While people in Woodbury are choking on traffic, pollution, confiscatory taxes and being forced to subsidize big business, the Town Board introduces two obscenely high-density projects as beneficial: 732 units rather than 283 homes. This will yield tremendous riches for the developers and dramatically expand the size and cost of government and taxes. And all the while, incumbents are claiming more will be less. Ironically, changing our zoning laws establishes a legal precedent that can be challenged and exploited by others who will want more and even higher-density concessions.

To many of us, the unusual urgency exercised to rush the process through to bring about such major projects is not leadership, but capitulation to what has been called "the lesser of two evils." In fact, the ultimate evil is that the process has been flawed by fear, intimidation and thinly veiled threats that the property will be flipped.

We will vote for John Burke. A highly qualified leader, he has both the superior skills and the will to deliver all that he and his team have promised to restore: open government, fiscal accountability, and taking town planning away from developers.

Joseph and Aimee Fitzgerald
Central Valley

They are Ralph and the Preservation Party supporters from the word go, so stop the bullshit!

OK. I was wrong about Burke but it is still an interesting endorsement....one that should not be taken lightly

Obviously then, you can't say she's an "independent voice"- obviously she's got a favorite, just like anyone else who writes a letter- there's no difference.

The most important thing of all is that EVERYONE, no matter who you are pulling the lever for, get out and exercise YOUR right to vote!

Leave Aimee alone, after all, she is a "wordsmith" as she announce at a town board meeting a while ago.

And all those nice little huddles with Ralph were of no consequence....hahahaha

Wow, I can't wait for this to be over....

I'll second that!

It will never be over in this town, just like Ralph will never go away no matter how many elections he has lost.
