*Ponders* I'd had a few ideas for some clever replies but, honestly none of them feel right just now. So I'm going to share a poem I just experienced, in a time when I suspect our Town/Village/what-ever-we-are-now could use more than its own share of healing...

And I'm going to sign my name. Haven't felt safe doing that before, but it seems appropriate as we enter this new era. Here's to making a safe, honest, free community... for all of us.

~ ~ ~

Flowing grasses,
dancing mist,
singing wind,
rolling free under a moonlit sky.

Purple and red clouds glow with muted luminescence.
A place that just is,
but has always been
and always will be
for me
home.

Safe at last,
as much as anything ever can be,
in this crazy, shifting world.

Purple mountains,
majesty
the dreams of many generations
long passed beneath the sands.

I don't know what struggles
the future may bring
but pray we find strength to face them
together.

Rolling grasses where one day,
children may laugh and play.
This sacred place reminds me
what's worth fighting for.

Here I sit as if in a dream,
Truth, I pray has set us free.
May we use it wisely...
For the sake of our children.

~ ~ ~

God bless Woodbury, and good night.

You show the same class as your mother Kieran. Thanks for the keen understanding of just what our Town/Village means to us, and what it takes to fight for our dreams. I hope in some small way that your mom now feels vindicated, and that you and your family continue to support our wonderful community. Together, the divisions that Mr. Caruso created will slowly disappear, and we will all move forward in the best interests of ALL citizens...past, present and future. Thanks again!

Ralph and his team, including Mr. Burke and many who sit on both the Democratic and Republican committees, need to do some serious soul searching and decide whether they want to continue to be part of the problem, or whether they truly DO believe in the community and will move forward and help to be part of the solution. (History has shown us that it is doubtful this will happen with them...rather, they will look for even more ways to create turmoil and chaos until they get their own way.) Last night's historic results proved that as a community, we have grown stronger, and we will not waste time being smug about the victory, but unite to protect Woodbury from urban sprawl, annexation, bankruptcy, etc. We now have in place both a Town and a Village board that seem to believe in open, fair government. Let's continue to make it work for all of us.

I don't think it's about Vindication for Mrs. Conroy. (although I'm sure she is smiling) It's about making Woodbury a better place. Not about personal gain. Those who won last night are wonderful and approchable people that care about thier community. Together with the town board they have the ability to help Woodbury thrive and be the best place to stay, raise a family and retire. It's going to be a long hard road. I wish them the best of luck.

Congratulations to the CommUNITY party.I'm glad you won.I'm glad Ralph is gone. I'm really glad it's over. But I'm saddened that out of 6000 reg. voters only 2000 were concerned enough to go out and vote. To those of us who did vote, great job.

Anonymous said...

It's really sad. It only takes a few minutes to cast a vote. Yet so many people choose not to. To those who did thank you for making the right choices...

Good luck CommUNITY party.

The most important thing now is that the CommUNITY slate must hit the ground running. They have alot of work ahead of them. Although each brings a different element of expertise to the board, they must all take part in the learning process, and be each other's support system. Watching how they interact, I do believe they will build a strong foundation for the new Village, and the public will help them grow. Good luck to all!

Last night's win was an absolutely incredible one for many reasons, but what strikes me most is that Ralph and co. probably had close to 100% name recognition back in August thanks to the village vote and all the media attention the Preservation group got. On the other hand, those in the Community Party had considerably lower name recognition (not 0%, but probably close to it) at that same time.

I've unfortunately been out of town for the past couple of months, so someone could correct me if I'm wrong, but there must have been an incredible grassroots campaign to overcome the above - I am truly impressed (and glad). Congrats to the Community Party!

Anonymous said...

Many worker bees and late nights contributed to the successful campaign of the CommUNITY party, not to mention the involvement of and many miles walked by the candidates themselves. It truly was a grassroots effort to shed light on the truth, and to give the Village it's best hope at actually working for all residents.

Here comes the friendly annexation. And no time will be wasted. But don't worry, we will save on court fees. I think I will buy annunity in a tax deferred account, you know the one where the salesman walks away with his pockets full and the buyer gets stuck with all the high HIDDEN fees and not much else. I can't wait till the people that own ace farm come to the town or village board and ask for their housing bonus increase. How do you say yes to one and no to the other?
Maybe that's what will happen to Ace Farm.

While it's nice to hug, shake hands, pat on backs and congratulate actual human beings, there is one unique item that played an important role in this election....the platform given to us by Uncle Betty, unto which we were able to vent, rage, laugh and cry our thoughts to the cyber community, without fear of retribution from Ralph and his pals. We were able to address lies immediately, as well as all other propaganda. Never before has a community been able to fight back in such a thought provoking way, and from the comfort of their own homes! So kudos to UB for his/her blog. I, personally, believe you did make a difference! Thanks for everything!

Hey Sore Losers (Ralph, Marty, Don, John, Hank, Manny, et al)- I'm sure you are banking on the Village to just crumble, aren't you. Perhaps that's why you ran such a lousy campaign Ralph....secretly knowing that you didn't want to clean up the mess YOU created. Don't worry though, we trust that our choice of leaders will work in the best interests of ALL- not just your chosen few!

Anonymous said...

The Communtiy Party made it clear that they will fight all annexation attempts.

Apparently the above poster neglected to actually read the new clustering law, because if they had they would see ace farms doesn't fall under the criteria that the law allows for denisty bonus. Sorry to disappoint you, but the zoning remains the same for that piece of land. (Ace farms only has 98 acres in the town/village of woodbury) the rest is in Monroe!

Yet again confusion and misinformation meant to make people panic.

Anonymous said...

Ah, the Preserve Ralph's Suit Party just likes listening to themselves babble. They'll come up with a new cause and run along to pester somebody else. Come to think of it, they owe Dick Randazzo some favors for taking Cornwall's $$$. When Nancy kicks his ass, then they'll move along yet again!

Anonymous said...

Thank you, voters, for looking beyond the misinformation, closed door debate with only mayors and not the rest of the slate, fear tactics and fananticism. The Town, and almost the Village, have been held in the grip of a small group who pander to various forms of wild and unfounded accusations, assassination of people's character without any shred of proof, hickjacking of Town meetings (mainly the televised ones), misrespresenting what the 5 laws were really about ( opposed to seniors owning their own housing instead of having to rent--how awful of 2 Town Boards to vote for such terrible laws), accusing the Community Party and part of the existing Town Board (except John Burke who is one of them and not held accountable for anything) of making deals and selling out the town. The list goes on and on. What they have put the Town and individuals, including Town officials, employees, and volunteers, through is sinking to the lowest political behavior. And that is part of the problem--this small band has become so political and insular that they only listen to themselves, dream up conspiracies that don't exist, show rude and disrespectful behavior and are so closed to the truth that they will not read or think beyond their own memorized repetitious lies.

The behind the scene alliance between the Democratic and Republican committess to control Woodbury should now be clear. Burke and Caruso formed an alliance at least 3 years ago. Their supporters came to meetings with prepared attacks--some written out so they could be sure to get their lines straight. At a few meetings, people in attendance even watched Caruso "orchestrate" his "players".

There should be no doubt that Caruso and Burke are together-- Burke's letter in the erroreous and misleading Vote for a Village Preservation kit, signed as Supervisor, and then his own daughter running on Caruso's ticket and handing out the slightly reworked but still erroreous and misleading Preservation Kit 2.

Why raise all of this one day after the village election--- so that all of us are vigilent as the new Village government is born. We should not tolerate a continuation of this reign of attacks and lies and character assassination on the new Village officials. We all have a stake in making this work and to not allow a few to sabotage the new village in order to set up for taking over at the next election, which some of them may already be planning. Fananticism of any kind is self feeding and does not handle defeat graciously.

Good luck new mayor and trustees. We wish you well---stay on the path you have begun and don't allow a small few to undermine what you have been voted into office to accomplish. Those who do not wish to allow the nonsense of the past 6 or so years to continue must step up and support this Board.

I hope Uncle Betty keeps this site open and that people continue to post and share information. Only the light of exposure will hold lies and misinformation in check. There are still lies out there to be dispelled and there are many who know what has gone on behind the scenes. We need a place to let people really know what is happening.

My prayers are with the new village and even with those who do not wish the newly elected officials well--look into your hearts and reflect on the actions that have brought you to where you are .

What is so dangerous about a lie?

The liar repeats it so many times in order to get others to believe it, that in the end he too believes his lie.

I agree that people should be vigilent. Reading some of the postings over the past week or so, it would appear that the Preservation People got so caught up in their own misinformation as to not even be able to acknowledge the facts, such as the budget, when they were staring them in the face.

Many people work and do now know what is going on behind the scenes. Explanations about the senior housing law now make it clear that the outrageous claims about incentive or bonus zoning was totally false. And yesterday's post that only 1 of the 5 laws apply to the property near the Cornwall border was most revealing. How could Caruso and Company take money from Cornwall people by letting them believe that the 5 laws affected the Legacy property? Shameful. All of this needs to be exposed!!

I urge people to hang onto the Preservation Kit and other literature and compare it to what happens in 6 months or a year. People who spread such misinformation or their followers should be held accountable if they try to run for office again.

What we all need to do as registered voters is to truly get involved with our respective parties and their committees. It is time Ralph and his counterpart, Manny, step aside and let some NEW, fresh blood in to jump start the TWO-PARTY system, rather than continue to allow this melding of Democrats and Republicans under one man's rule...Ralph's. Just the fact that Marty Stanise, who doesn't even live in Woodbury anymore, showed up at the Sr Center to hear the numbers should make everyone cringe. Stanise and Caruso have tried to run Woodbury for far too many years, and I coudn't be happier that they went down to such a large defeat...ALL 5 positions! I would definitely declare that it was a RESOUNDING NO to the two of them! And you may want to keep an eye on the Conservatives as well, for I believe Ralph's running mate, Mr. Pedersen may still be one of their committee people, and may even be the chairman. So as "Mr. O" stated...watch the watchers!

Anonymous said...

How does one become a party committee member?

Anonymous said...

I can tell you that the Democrats of Woodbury are fed up with all the games over the past year and we will get rid of Bob and Manny real soon!
I am sure Ralph, Bob and Manny will have a team running for the Town Board and Supervisor next year, has anyone come forward to run yet?

Anonymous said...

In answer to becoming a committee member, you can check with the County Board of Elections. Sometimes you must walk petitions, but lately with the Democrats, if you're related to someone, like John Burke, then you can just hop right on...that's what John'a son-in-law and son both did! Sweet, ah!?!? Or, if you're related to Manny, you get to be on the committee and NEVER attend meetings...just give your proxy's whenever an important vote comes up...ask Jim Galvin how he got screwed in that one!! Ah yes, it certainly is time for the nonsense to stop, and the committees to stop playing cross-endorsement to suit their chairmen, and to start acting like real, distinct committee people. One thing the Dems have over the Reps is that they do have open meetings. Ralph is TOTALLY against that one...in fact, there are times when he doesn't even let ALL of the committee members know when a meeting is occurring, if HE doesn't want certain members there! Nice, ah?!? I think we can all agree that there is something rotten in Woodbury when it comes to these two committees. Hopefully yours will be a new face on one of the committees! Good luck!

From today's Phot News-
Woodbury Town Supervisor John Burke said, “A two-year term is adequate, but it’s not that important.”

He said he believes in giving the citizens more opportunities to vote — not less.

“Performance in office speaks for itself,” said Burke. “Voters should, and do, judge you on that.”

Yesireee John...and we WILL remember!

You bloggers are so full of yourselves, it's disgusting. Nothing but Caruso bashing with nothing to back up your claims. The big lie technique. I didn't vote for either community or preservation full slate, but if Sutz didn't win, I sure as hell didn't want Weeks in. She's an airhead and will be a puppet. Notice she got the least votes of all her party? And as for knowing someone on a committee to get in -- well, to win a campaign it seems you have to sling mud, make totally false statements attributed to the other side, and solicit funds from builders and contractors. Pelermo was ashamed of being a resident after the Village vote. Well, I'm ashamed of the people in Woodbury who stooped so low. Community has a police sergeant's wife, highway dept. head's wife, and a fire commissioner. No special interests here, are there? Especially the fire commissioners who are all afraid they may now be accountable and lose their perks. Tsk, tsk. Nothing has changed in woodbury. The people have just shown their nasty sides. The town board that was in with the builders is now cozy with the village board. And life goes on.

Anonymous said...

And we will remember what the community village board does, too.

Anonymous said...

huh? you mean those taxpayers in this town didnt have the right to run for office???

Anonymous said...

And your buddy Ralph got even less then his slate. The voters had the last say and you can't deal with it. GROW UP!

Anonymous said...

If you were so concerned about the candidates, and special interests, why the hell didn't you step up to the plate??? If you've lived in this town, then you've got history...whether it's who you're married to, what you do for a living, where you live, etc. The fact of the matter is that Ralph spun a web of lies, and once caught, wouldn't own up to it, or admit that even possibly he had made a mistake. At least all the others had the courage to say we can't possibly HAVE all the answers at this point. It's always safe to sit on the side lines pal and point your finger...just try stepping up to the plate!

No one is banking on the village crumbling. There are over 450 villages in the state of NY. All successful. Let's be real. My fear is the increased housing which will increase taxes. For example 450 Homes instead of 150. Look at Legacy Ridge another bonus package coming right up. These two are just the beginning of the end of the preservation of Woodbury. I know we will increase the number of homes for every builder that comes to town because if we don't, we will be sued for discretionary zoning. Like I said I'm buying an annuity in a tax deferred account. My sales rep loves me and he knows I must be foolish but he's walking away with his commission and maybe a bonus!!!

Anonymous said...

To the last poster: please educate yourself. You have so much incorrect information that is it hard to know where to start.

Hopefully, you will do a better job at educating yourself before investing in those annuities or you will be in big trouble. This is not meant as an insult. It is assumed that you would take the time to reseach before investing in an annuity. Why would you not do the same about the 5 laws pertaining to the Brodsky project and the proposals for the Legacy project? The same people spreading misinformation about the village, annexation, a ridiculous budget and on and on sound like they have "told" you about these projects too---and their "information" is also wrong--in fact, it seems to be a pattern.
Falling for it, gives others power over you.

Did you know that 2 of the laws that allowed more houses on Brodsky's project were for seniors only? All 1 law did was say seniors could own these homes instead of only being allowed to rent them? And these homes could only be built at a density of 4 units per acre---the same as the existing senior housing law.

Do you know what 4 units per acre looks like: some lots in Skyline area, some lots on DePalma are a little under 4 units per acre (where Mr. Caruso lives), some lots along Rt. 32. For a comparison, Timber Ridge is 2 to
2 1/2 times that density.

Did you know that no other community around here has such a low density for senior housing? All are higher.

Did you know that the law says there can be no school age children living in these senior only units? It can be enforced so resales can only be to other seniors.

Now why is this law important for seniors? Because it allows them to downsize and still remain in Woodbury. And, by owning, their own homes, they get a tax break and build up equity value. In rental only units, they get no tax breaks, pay a landlord, and when they move out, take no money from their unit with them. In senior owned units, they can sell and have a nest egg to take with them

NO land in Woodubury is zoned for senior housing---you have to apply for it and meet certain criteria. You must provide sewer and water and be in a desireable location. Brodsky met these requirements and the location is near bus and train transportation pick up points and near shopping.

It is NOT bonus or incentive zoning---it is straight forward 4 units per acre period. There are no deals with developers and it does not set a precedence for any other land owners. They would have to apply and meet the criteria.

This is enough for one sitting---I will gladly go over the other laws another time. I do not work for the developer. I actually read the laws for myself instead of listening to other people's "intrepretations".

Ignornace is not bliss. It gives falsehoods and false seeks power over you. Those who spread false hoods count on you not reading and thinking for yourself. I prefer to control my own thinking. You have the same choice.

Anonymous said...

To the poster that continues to cry about the builders...perhaps we old timers didn't want your builder to build your house. Then where would you be?
There was a time when developers came in and bull-dozed everything to build their homes. All we had to look at were homes placed on bare lots with long roads.
The "newer" laws, which by the way are followed in "all" of New York State, are far more sensitive to the environment. Cluster development is different because it allows for less roads, which means less blacktop to repair, replace and plow, and more "green" areas.
Homes are placed on "wooded" rather than "barren" parcels.
What is so bad about that? Water and sewer must be adequate for each project either naturally or upgrades made to the existin system to ensure continued or uninterupted services.
I suggest, as the last poster has, that you educate yourself in everything that irks or interests you, for it is only then that you will have "control" instead of the
misinformation having "control" over you. Knowledge, when used wisely, is power.

To the David Sutz fan:

You said Stephanie didn't get as many votes as her running mates.
Thats because David Sutz and the pizza man took votes from her!

This was a four horse race. The trustees had 8 people running for 4 seats whereas the mayors had 4 people running for 1 seat.

It's sad that I have to explain this to you.

The Community Party had donations coming in from alot of residents of the town/village. Instead of making accusations why don't you FOIL their financials.

The Community Party has promised to lease services from the town.
That means that Stephanie and Joann will not be bosses to their husbands or their husbands co-workers. They will not be negociating contracts, giving raises, or even hiring or firing. So stop making stuff up.

David Sutz was comfortable saying he would look into a DPW. Does he not care that people would lose their jobs?

Reality is that the people in this town wanted EVERTHING to stay the same. The Community Party has no intention of changing anything. People didn't like Daid or Ralph's message.

Not to mention David was trashing elected officials eg: Town Clerk and Board members.
His ego is so big that it was hard for him to see that even some of his friends on the Ambulance didn't vote for him. Several said that he was impossible to deal with when he didn't get his way. Too much like Ralph Caruso others said.

The election is over. Let's make this Town/Village the best it can be!

Anonymous said...

Sutz fan,
Did you fail math or are you just an idiot? Of course she got the least votes on her slate, there was a four way mayoral race vs. a two way trustee race. Don't let your face pucker from all those sour grapes you're having for breakfast there buddy. As far as her being an airhead, do you even know her/ Doubt it, You sound just like the reason your candidate lost, arrogant, uniformed and living in your own little world.

THE NEW VILLAGE

All in all, in our new village
We were able to stop those that would pillage
However, many a sore loser does abound,
They still have not run aground.

Ralph and his party will be back
and this time will take a different tack
Kepp a watch and what will you see?
Ralphlings going after Mike Q, Lorraine and Gerri!

“Revenge is mine” sayeth the Ralph man
And he will try because he can,
The only thing to stop this onslaught
Is the people of the village who can’t be bought!

So, good people do not rest!
Goodness is always put to the test,
All it takes for evil to succeed
is for good people to pay no heed!

Hey, UNcle Betty. Wish we could hold a seminar on how not be brain washed by political propaganda. When you actually read the facts about 2 of the 5 "awful"laws, two of them relating to seniors only and realize that these houses will send no kids to school, but still pay school taxes, it makes one realize how easy it is to fall prey to political operatives.

So let's take a look behind the scenes; Lesson #1: "what really goes on behind the scenes" or "smoke and mirrors".

It is now clear that Burke (Democratic Committee member), Caruso (head of the Republican Comm) and Bob Donnelly (until recently, head of the Democratic Committee) are all working together. It is also now clear why Caruso persuaded the committee members he controlled to leave the Supervisor's slot on the Republican line open in last year's election --so his friend John Burke could have it. The proof---Burke and Caruso were the leading point men for the Village creation (It now appears that they used Queenan as a front). All along Burke and Caruso have been the leaders speaking out against the 5 laws. Burke, at a recent Town meeting, got backed into a corner when asked what the senior housing law actually said and had to admit perhaps he didn't understand it. Of course not, because he follows Caruso.

Remember the petition some people in Town signed to have a referendum on zoning? Burke and Caruso leading the charge on that too. Only problem? It's illegal and the Town would have been sued if it made zoning decisions based on an illegal referendum.

Burke supported the Preservation Kit's erroreous information about the budget numbers by signing a letter of support in the kit, as Supervisor. Head of the Preservation Committee--Ralph Caruso. Another member of that Committee: Carol Mulolley, wife of canddiate Bill on the Preservation ticket

Burke's daughter ran on the Preservation Party ticket with Caruso as its head, again endorsing, erroreous information in their 2nd Preservation Kit. And she came right out and said, we will change the zoning.

Last candidate on the Preservation team: Mr. Meyers, neighbor and good friend of Don Siebold (right hand man to Caruso and another member of the Republican Committee)

Just follow the connections, folks and they all go back to the team of: Caruso and Burke.

Part of this whole village thing was a behind the scenes desire to get power. We have a dangerous situation now of the 2 main political committees in Town working as one, denying people a choice. We have a small click trying to control the information and misleading people--Why? To convince you to vote for them so they can run the Town, then the Village.

Add to that, Caruso for years has tried to get the Conservation Party endorsement, but they wanted nothing to do with him. Wonder why. But he courted George Pedersen, a Conservative Committee member, to be on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and guess what, he became another running mate on Caruso's Preservation Party.

See the pattern here folks? Caruso likes to stack the deck--if you can't win yourself, get your surrogates in.

We need to be alert. The fox is still in the chicken house.

Oh, and as for the Democractic Committee meetings being open--- just fluff. All the important business is discussed elsewhere or in closed executive sessions. Burke now has 2 family members on the Democractic Committee which gives him 3 votes. With the Democrats, you don't even have to have registered Democrats sign petitions for you. You show up for a couple of meetings, say you want to join and they vote you in.

Burke and crew used to complain that the previous Democratic Committee was a click. So he got rid of that click and created his own Click and his and the Caruos Click form one Super Click. But they are the good guys, so it's okay.

Sadly, most people go about their business not knowing that a few people try to manipulate the process for their own gain. And they try to discredit anyone who questions or speaks out against them. Some "open government" system.

Anonymous said...

The political corruption is rampant in Woodbury. Everything the last poster said is true.

There are four people who thought they ran the show. Ralph Caruso, Don Siebold, Bob Donnelly and John Burke.

But guess what! See the way Ralph was exposed for his political corruption... Well Mr Burke YOUR next. Stacking the Democratic Committee, lying to the employees and residents, manipulating and twisting situations, BULLYING JUST LIKE RALPH CARUSO!

Well see in next years election. It's all coming out.

Anonymous said...

Ok so tell us who they will put up next year for the Town Seats?

Anonymous said...

Dems will probably try to convince Bo to try,try again...and then there's John's son and son-in-law, and maybe, just maybe, Manny will bring his absentee committee member son into the mix???? Ralph seems to have been grooming Denice daCunha and Karen Ungerer for a run at office, but I'm sure there is alot of wheeling and dealing to be done before the next election. An unknown from the Super Click may be thrust into the spotlight as well! One thing is for sure, if we want John Burke out of office, we're all going to have to find someone who is NOT hand-picked by the Super Click. We better start looking now!!!

Anonymous said...

I have to wonder if Mike Aronowitz will take a crack at John, especially with his behavior lately. He seemed to jump to the majority's side of the fence on the 5 laws vote, then to the other side when he signed Ralph's mayoral petition, then back over again when he put his name to a letter endorsing the community party. Kind of wishy-washy behavior....sort of like when someone is thinking about running for higher office. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Speaking of Aronowitz and Burke how much did they pay for this to be written.

Bark up this tree

To the editor:

We would like to publicly thank the members of the Woodbury Town Board for their interest in establishing a dog park in the Town of Woodbury, specifically Supervisor John Burke and board member Michael Aronowitz for the time and effort they have put into this project so far.

When we presented our proposal to the town board a few months ago, it was after doing research at other dog parks in the Hudson Valley region. Feedback from the towns that already have such parks (like Ossining, Nanuet and New City) has been overwhelmingly positive. Town officials and residents alike all agree that the dog park has been a wonderful addition to their communities. Dog parks establish a safe environment in which dogs can get their much-needed exercise and at the same time, allowing them to interact with other dogs.

For the owners, it creates opportunities for members of our community to interact. In the scheme of things, dog parks are relatively low-cost items once they have been established and would not create a burden on taxpayers of our community.

The Town Board is scheduled to discuss the proposal at their Nov. 13 meeting. Please show your support for the establishment of a dog park by either: e-mailing the Town Board, sending them a letter of support, calling or attending the meeting on Nov. 13.

With so much political controversy in Woodbury recently, this is something we can all get behind and support.

and we will not waste time being smug about the victory, but unite to protect Woodbury from urban sprawl, annexation, bankruptcy, etc. We now have in place both a Town and a Village board that seem to believe in open, fair government. Let's continue to make it work for all of us.

I could not agree more with this statement. And no, I don't think vindication is a word my mother or I are very comfortable with... though we do feel deeply satisfied with the degree of truth which finally seems to have come out regarding a number of schemes and misinformation campaigns which have hurt many, MANY decent people.

I am very concerned about moving forward, and agree continued vigillance is vital. We're facing a key election of Supervisor and Town Board members next fall and, while the Village is technically on top a few bad eggs could make it very difficult to continue smooth, integrated services at low cost to taxpayers. And if history's any show, certain parties will try grandstanding and gearing up ASAP. I hope the people of Woodbury continue to pay close attention, and make decisions based on FACTS, not rumor or public spectacle. I have faith though, that this is possible, and consider this place to be a valuable tool to that end.

But as the 'Unc has said in the past, Democracy is DAMN hard work. Lets just be grateful we live in a place where it exists, along with the freedoms that make me so proud to be an American. And fight like mad to keep it existing.

I may post some more thoughts on my hopes for an honest, ethical government in the spirit of CommUNITY's original platform... and how victory can sometimes be tricker than the struggle leading up to it. :)

Another name to think about, running for office next year, is Buddy M. on the ZBA. It seemed that Ralph was grooming him for a run for office, leash and all.

We talk of Ralph who is not a saint,
And the many good things he does taint,
He uses people like Seibold and Stanise,
and teaches them how many people to fleece,
And ralph pushed buttons on deChuna,
Which is easy because she's such a luna,
He sucks them into his cause,
their welfare he gives not a pause,
And as he sits praying in church,
he schemes how to leave them in the lurch,
Because if Marty and Denice get caught,
And Ralph's advice they sought,
He will simply move on to his next plan,
And start all over because he can!!

I think you erred...Stanise tutored Caruso...that's why he continually comes back to Woodbury to check on his failed prodigy! Waht a disappointment, ah Marty?

It will not be Buddy and deChuna it will be Mike & Mike, Mike Q will run for Supervisor because he has nothing to lose and Aranowitz for his board seat. Look for Hunter to join Aranowitz which would be a great ticket and almost guarantee them a clean sweep. All three have a very solid base and putting them on one line will crush Manny, Bob, John and Ralph’s puppet candidates they will try to elect. Stay Tuned

Since Sutz put up pretty good numbers in the Village, and seems to agree with Ralph, perhaps a deal will be struck there (if it hadn't been done BEFORE the election).

you may think that you have won, but as time goes by, you'll see, not really!
