If the Uncle were a more mercenary sort, he'd sell ad space on this blog and make a very minor fortune.
But the Uncle doesn't do things that way.
He sees you, dear readers and commenters, as friends, as family - and one does not make money exploiting friends and family.
Well, the head of the Woodbury Republican committee might.
Bill Larkin's Aide might.
But the Uncle?

This is a democracy. Scare me enough and I'll keep things as they are.
But demonstrate the apathy that Woodbury is known and loved for and LONG GREEN - HERE I COME (say, didn't Long Green star on Bonanza?).

We'll I am sure the Uncle pays taxes to live in Woodbury...which will be going up when our new junta lead by Generalissimo Ralph Caruso takes power and begins governing us with an iron fist soon. So you may want the extra revenue But, hey...we can all drink the kool aid being distributed by the Ralphinistas and take them at their word...nothing will change and we wont be paying more...
God willing, an honest board will be elected. And no matter how frugal they are, taxes will go up (just paying insurance and legal bills will do that).
Then, when people say to Ralph that his numbers were a lie, he'll just blame the new board and claim that if he ran things his numbers would have worked.
So, I hope that whoever is on the new board (the honest one) that for at least the first year they run a bare bones operation so that when Ralph blames them for the expense of the village, they can point to their budget and say "OK, Ralph, name one thing that could have been cut."
I've lived in Woodbury for almost 7 years (before that Queens) and I still work in the City.
I hadn't paid much attention to politics before the whole Village thing (I voted yes, but I'm still not sure it was the right thing to do).
I always voted the straight Democratic line, even though I didn't really know anything about the candidates - but last November my neighbors filled me in a little and I voted for Sheila, Geri and Mike Queenan.
I only started reading Uncle Betty and I'm halfway through the archives. This is a lot more like a Bulletin Board than a blog, though UB's stuff is pretty funny.
I don't understand a bunch of things but I figure I'll pick it up.
3 questions. 1- Caruso is made to sound like he is pure evil. I tend to doubt anyone is pure evil, they might be crooked or they might just have unpopular views, but I don't think that Satan is actually a politician in Woodbury. Am I missing something?
2- Swiller seems not to be pushing any particular agenda. The main thing that he talks about is wanting honest government and that people need the facts in order to make decisions. Why do some of the posters here seem to hate him?
3- On all the other BBs (Bulletin Boards) I was on, people made up names for themselves and used them. Wouldn't that make a lot more sense than having to say "anonymous number 3 said" or "2 anonymouses up said"?

nu2ub- pay close attention from here on out, and see how the Village is created. Read Caruso's letter in the 8/18/06 Photo News, and get a taste of the pompous arrogance the sack of flesh and bones displays. I dare not call him human, for he has no heart. He peers from behind those glasses pretending to be a compassionate human being, but if you were to ever see him without them on, you'd see the dead eyes of a shark. He is out for one thing- Ralph Caruso, and ultimate power and control. He is as vindictive as they come, and stops at nothing in order to destroy his political rivals. He will not accept defeat, and uses and abuses people to achieve his goals. The master of manipulation...the dictator...the devil in disguise...any of those describe him well.
Hey all you Repbulicans out there (and in here as well). I got a great idea. Why don't you get a hold of your committee reps and tell them to get Ralphie boy out of the head seat?? Based on ALL the responses I read here, there is not one person who wants RC around. All you gotta do is get him out of a position of influence and be done with it.

Problem with that is the fear factor! People ARE actually afraid of him. Ask the Town's employees...they don't dare buck Ralph for fear of retaliation. He has no problem throwing around threats, or following through with them. But you do have a great idea there. I wonder what Ralph would actually do if dethroned??? Kinda like throwing water on the witch!

I’m guessing that you are Toad Bob Donnelly since you already said that you had looked at Swiller’s tax records.
Being late on paying bills is not being a deadbeat. I think that all of us have been late.
Somebody’s credit report is nobody elses business.
Swiller does work for all of us and doesn’t make a penny doing it, so I can understand if he would be late, but as I say, it’s not my business.
I agree that you are a ballless, worthless sack of shit and you should leave Woodbury.

Just as i posted when people took pot shots at Iris Sandow's religion during the campaign to create the village, i will say in defense of Mr. Swiller or anyone, what does his finances or the finances of anyone have to do with any ongoing political debate in this community? Like him or not, but Mr. Swiller takes the time to participate in the affairs of this community, and participates in what he feels is right. As someone who has done that for many years i have learned that takes great sacrifice (and not allot of money comes from it either). Some would ask why people do not participate in the democratic process or dont vote, and what a shame that is...we'll here is your answer. Who would want to volunteer to get smacked around or embarrassed by certain individuals whose motives and agendas are quite questionable??
Can we go any lower, unless you have Swiller's SS# and other personal information to run a report you are full of %$#@.
Whoever decided to take a jab at Swiller using his supposed credit report obviously must run their lives comparing apples to cars. One has nothing to do with the other. And for the record, some of the most respected and richest citizens amongst us have the WORST credit scores because for whatever reason, they can't be bothered with paying their bills on time. So your correlation doesn't hold water!
Ok a-hole what was the credit score and please tell us how you got his SS# to run the report. As for the taxes again show us otherwise get off this site you loser!!!!!!!!

Hers one for you, did you know that the great Woodbury Savior Ralph works for Larkin?, the greatest supporter of KJ? Seems kind of funny that he works for the champion of KJ, securing millions upon millions of dollars for KJ, then wants you to believe he's against them. He baited everyone into doing just what KJ wanted, for Woodbury to become a village, and everyone fell for it.
What about the personal dirt?
Yeah geez can you say double standard?? How is that Ralphie boy can be against KJ but then cozy up to them with his boss Ballot Box Bill?? There is now way that Ralphie would be going AGAINST KJ and spewing all of his rhetoric if there wasnt a plan in place that KJ was in on. See the bigger picture.
Watch and see what $$ Uncle Bill will be promising the Village of Woodbury if we make Ralph and his Ralphlings the Mayor and trustees!! That will be Ralph's new battle cry...kinda like the Pied Piper! Remember what happened to them??

I'm very against calling anyone "evil," but I have to say from personal experience that Ralph is definately about as close as you can get. Just ask anyone who's ever stood up to him on, well, anything, and see the viciousness which came out against them (I could list at least 15 people off the top of my head, but wouldn't want to violate anyone's privacy). He wants power, plain and simple, and is willing to use/destroy anything and anyone to get it. I don't give him some mystical satanic aura, simply acknowledge that he exemplifies the all two human traits of greed and arrogance in deeply hurtful ways. I'd consider that a fair definition for evil.
At the same time, the fact is that Ralph couldn't do what he did if he didn't have so many people who worked for him or were willing to go along with his crap. There's plenty of blame to go around, he's the ringleader but by no means alone.
Already the fruits of his behavior are coming out as people are seeing him for who he is... I just pray enough people see in time to get a sane village government in office.
Oh, and go ahead and do your ads uncle. We all need to make a living, and god knows you spend enough time keeping this place running and the truth, or at least as close as its possible to get in this town.
Just no horrible popups and I'll be fine. :P
