Ralph is trying to control this town.
He runs both political committees.
He’s getting closer to his goal.
Last March, Bob Donnelly, Chairman of the Woodbury Democratic Committee, sent a letter to Sheila Conroy, Town Supervisor. He told Sheila that "you four board members need not consider running again, unless the woodchucks have more votes than 3 thousand others, and you run on an independent line."
"An independent line???" Who the hell is the head of the Democratic Committee to tell a Republican office-holder that she won’t have her own party’s endorsement? Of course, months later, Ralph saw to it that Sheila didn’t get endorsed, but unless the Democratic and Republican Committees were already conniving to make this a one-party town, how would Donnelley know back in March?
He knew, because back then Caruso and Burke were already conspiring to put together their so called "dream team" of John Burke, Darleen Reveille and Henry (Hank) Sullivan, which was to be shoved down our throats, no questions asked.
When the Republican Committee picked its candidates, rather than endorse a sitting Supervisor from their own party, the picked no one. This was to clear the field for Burke. We were not supposed to have a choice.
But Sheila went out and got petitions signed, and Gerri and Mike stood up in the primary and things weren’t going Ralph’s way.
Then last night the Town Board voted on the Brodsky project. Ralph had already set the stage for people to be scared to death of the development. He and his parrots yelled "high density", "high density" so much that people started to believe them. Though how 1 acre zoning could be called high density is a mystery. Most of the people yelling high density live on far smaller lots.
Bear this in mind. The Board did not have to vote on the Brodsky project last night. They could have put it off until after the election. But they refused to allow politics to influence town business. The project was ready to be voted on, so they voted - knowing full well that it would be used against them. There’s a name for that: integrity. Ralph and John wouldn’t understand.
Meanwhile, Ralph still wasn’t scaring enough people into voting for John. Then, this week a very curious thing happened, right here on this blog. KJ’s hired guns Ari Felberman and Robert Lawrence started posting on this blog. They accused Roxanne and Sheila and Gerri and Mike of being anti-Semitic bigots. They twisted people’s words and talked about Hitler and the Holocaust as if wanting to preserve Woodbury’s independence was somehow wrong.
Why were KJ’s henchmen coming to Ralph and John’s aid? Could it be because Ralph’s boss, Bill Larkin, is KJ’s man in Albany? Could it be because Ralph and John’s plan for a moratorium on building would have caused a massive sell off of land to KJ? Could it be that stopping the Brodsky project would force Brodsky to sell the land to the highest bidder (guess who). Could it be that Ralph wants to fill Larkin’s shoes and he needs the KJ leaders as much as they need him?

Ralph Caruso started plotting his next run for office the night he lost the first time against Roxanne Donnery. He set his plan in motion by appointing HIS committee people to every stinking board in our town. Aronowitz to the Parks Department as CHAIRMAN, Queenan to the planning board as CHAIRMAN and the master himself, Ralphie boy Caruso to the ZBA as CHAIRMAN. He then saw to it that Holly became his mouthpiece on the board with her vicious insults of Sheila, and of course wishy washy Dobson got the nod to do the same. But, Sheila did what she was elected to do, didn't play the political game, and kept moving ahead. Ralph continued his verbal assaults by condemning just about everything Roxanne Donnery did or said before the Board. But again, a woman with a mighty spirit, Roxanne Donnery also stood up to Ralph, putting him in his place. Then one, by one, Geri did, and Colleen did, and Lorraine ALWAYS did. Not to be outdone, Ralph had to get another lackey on the board, so he lobbied for Aronowitz. But poor,poor Mike Aronowitz, using bad judgment as usual, while waiting in the wings for an appointment to the board, creates a FREE Town of Woodbury website out of the goodness of his heart. Too bad the selfish, slimey entrepreneur in him came out, and he added his own link to the Town's website, which took you directly to HIS Karate School. Ah, but our smart Supervisor saw this, and scolded Mikie for using the town to line his pockets. He tried to use the excuse that he was offering women and children free defense lessons, but that was nowhere to be seen. So, Mikie had to wait. Eventually he was seated on the board, and we have been witness to his ridiculous, unprofessional behavior ever since. Anyway, then Ralph was feeling a little lonely, so he sat yet another committeeman, his right-hand bootlicker, beside him on the ZBA, Donald Siebold. Now, with the boards just brimming of Ralph's schooled committeemen, he moved on with his plan to take over our town. Problem is, the four incredibly strong women of the Town Board united, added Roxanne Donnery to the mix on the county level, and together have achieved good things for our town, as Ralph has been jumping up and down issuing threats..."How dare they!!" Ralph then decides to gather his people and create a Village, one in which HE will be King, a kind of back door move since he couldn't get elected himself, or seem to get Sheila out of office. Well folks, that has failed too, because once again, they DIDN'T do the research, and now it's in cout and we
re paying hundreds of thousands in taxpayer dollars to defend it.
The rest is history, as will be Ralph and his merry band of toads once Tuesday comes!
Why would a COUNTY Legislator offer any opinion on zoning laws that she, NOR any other legislator have a say on? Look up Municipal Home Rule moron. The town board is the only one that can change the zoning laws. You might want to pass that on to Ralph too! He's the one that should be ashamed of himself. As ZBA chairman, he tells David Church, COUNTY planner to stay out of the Town's business, and in the next breath he's trying to make zoning changes within our town a County campaign issue. Again, MORON!
Larkin has been giving, and giving, and giving to KJ for years. Then, as he saw Monroe and Sandy Leonard giving in to KJ, he started giving to them too. Look how much Monroe is getting paid for their little rinky dink Walmart sign on the other end of LARKIN Drive. Larkin holds state money over our heads like ransom. If HIS people aren't in office, you don't get the money. Why do you think Woodbury gets some crumbs supposedly at Ralph's doing whenever Ralph runs for office? Hey, is there anyway to compare what Larkin has gotten for KJ & Monroe in comparison to Woodbury?

Looks like Ralph Caruso will close out his campaign just as he began it, comparing apples to rocks, and mixing political duties on all levels.
He implies in his ads and mailers that his opponent, Roxanne Donnery should have spoken out about the Brodsky project. Good for he in knowing the difference between Town and County Gonernment! He anoounces how HE is responsible for bringing water to the Fort. $50k for Ft Montgomery had nothing to do with a legislative position, as it came from the STATE. Mrs. Donnery's school board position has nothing to do with the County legislature, and the TH-R reported that the problem with the overpayment of impact aid to the school district had nothing to do with Mrs. Donnery or any other school board member, it was due to mistakes made by our FEDERAL Government.
So, once agian, in his blinding ambition, Ralph Caruso has proven that he's not sure how government works! He's so anxious to hop in Bill Larkin's seat, that he has totally lost sight of what a legislator does or can do. I almost feel sorry for him... NOT!!!!
The truth of the matter is this ruthless man will do WHATEVER it takes to get absolute power and control, and to get elected. He's proven it for the last 35 years in our town. With Marty Stanise moving out of the town's boundaries, Ralph Caruso has found new life as the Chairman of the Republican Committee, and has virtually taken over our town. Jim Galvin was absolutely right four years ago when he said that replacing our boards with Ralph Caruso's people would mean that 16 to 18 people (the Woodbury Republican Committee) would be ruling this town, with the Chairman at the helm. In a perfect world, where everyone had to tell the truth, Ralph Caruso would be banished because he doesn't know HOW to tell the truth!
Dear Uncle Betty: In a previous post, Mr. Jim Booth said something that has sparked my curiosity. He said as a republican committee member, he hopes to have the meetings opened to the public. Does he have that kind of support within the ranks? I've read up on Mr. Booth, and he seems to be the kind of politician that understands what politics should be about, and not the Caruso-type that believes that lies and deception will get you everywhere. Any chance he could replace Ralph as party boss in Woodbury? I would be willing to vote for him!
